My wife and I were at MAL-MART tonight 8/2/03 and they had
0-20wt Mobil-1 full syntheic oil for sell. Says right on the botttle it is for new Fords and Hondas.

Mobil-1 also had a european oil 0-40wt for several european type cars like VW, BMW, etc.!

Both were $4.56 per qt.

missing something here, so if I am, please be patient w/me, but if the manufacture of your car recommends 5W20 oil, than why would you want to go with 0W20 oil, simply because it's synthetic??? I think that just because it states that it's for new Fords, might not neccessarily mean that it's the best for every motor that Ford makes, and if it also mentions Hondas, then we have to conclude that's it's obviously not a specific application for Fords, and especially not for V8 engines(since I don't believe that Honda even makes any engines other than modified weed wacker ones....like the kind that Hillary Clinton shaves her legs with).......

Billy from talking to my F/LM SM recently FMC is changing to 0-20wt as their recommended oil for all motors the very near future. Yes I know it is not 5-20wt.

The point about the Hondas was only to inform you that Mobil had printed on the front of their oil bottle "For New Ford and Honda engines" so both companies must be headed the same direction.

I espeically do not want to get into another oil pissing contest. We've all been down that thread at least a dozen times.

Buy the way I have not recommended this oil only stated that is was available!

It is your car you make your selection!

Gone!

There are many different vendors that distribute motor oil for this car. I highly recommend that during the warranty period of your marauder that you have the dealership change your oil with factory specified filter and lubricants. Some of you maybe sold on a particular flavor and performance characteristic carefully advertised by a manufacture. The fact of the matter is when it comes to warranty issues it’s always preferred that the L/M dealer have records of your service history. In my case the benefit of having a dealer service history was 9,400 dollars for a new motor and installation. Do the math, how much money are you saving, and what performance benefits will you realize ?

I thought that 5-20 was about the lowest weight motor oil I had ever heard of, but 0-20? If the numbers refer to the "weight" or viscosity of the oil, how can it be zero? No viscosity?

Watch it there schuv, jrzygrl is the "official"spokesperson for Wally World(LOL).
As for 0W20,Mobil 1 has had 0W30 for a few years now,if you live up in the snow belt and park outside you might want to try it in the winter.
