F'd up MAJOR

My car's been dirty for some time,
And unlike a lot of you, Mine's NOT garage kept

So living under a bunch of pine trees never helps for a car.

Long story short, couldn't get the sap out, so i tried 3M removal clay...

DIDNT work 100% of the way so I used........<Sigh>

Rubbing alcohol was in mind, I was enraged that the stuff couldn't come out, so I used the alcohol with a paper towel, Rubbed that sh$t off, and then I went to go wash the car

Lo and Behold the areas in which I removed my sap, I see the PERMANENT smudges and streaks of where I was wiping out the alcohol!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !

DAMMIT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!!!!

I checked on the internet......Glaze , buff and polish?

Could those be the solutions?

you mean it's scratched up from the sap and paper towel?

If so, you'll have to polish and wax. probably with power

Not sure how you'll correct the existing damage, but for future reference, Original Formula "No. 7" Tar and Bug Remover, now made by Raindance (used to be DuPont) is great for pine tree sap. After using it, just wash the area normally, and re-apply a light coat of wax.

I know how you must feel. I was on the road for a month when I first got my MM. I don't use automatic car washes, only a bucket and wash mit. Paper towel is made from wood. Some towels can be pretty harsh. Use a cotton cloth to rub things on your car.

i think its scrached up fromt he alcohol and paper towel, no?
Maybe JUST the paper towel......

Maybe a machine glaze would help it out?

Reaper948: I also have the same problem. went to a pro shop that sells to detailers. They will have a sap remover. Just make sure you tell them it is for a black car!!!!! Also got some stuff that takes out swirl marks. Plus wax spent about $35.
Sap can do damage if not removed in few weeks.
For now go with RF tip and get some of that stuff.
NO PAPER TOWELS!!!!!!!!!!!!
