For a few months its been doing this....
When I floor it or Rev the car up then back off the throttle there is a loud sound that slows down AFTER the rpms drop. Like something that got spun up with RPM is still slowing down after the car is back to idle.
I know its a stupid discription but hopefully someone knows what I mean. It almost sounds like an electric motor. I know its not the power steering or Alternator. They don't "free spin"

I have the same thing... It is a winding sound almost like a turbo winding down or something... I would like to know what it is as well... never got under the hood to investigate, but I saw the thread and would like to know as well... DO TELL!
Its the alternator, and its louder when its cold outside.
Its clutched and freewheels during and shortly after going WOT.

Exactly it sounds like a blower spinning down.
So its the DR tune turning off the Alty? It does it at all temps.

I just did a nice smoky burnout in 40* weather today and I heard it for the first time too!! Was curious what it was even though I wasn't too concerned. Good to know, you guys are great............

The First time I heard that noise was the 1st time I hit the water box... It never bothered me, I wasn't sure what it was.... I thought it might be the TC spooling down. I guess you learn something every day. :)

I heard that noise for the first time after getting my tune when I went to the track....I immediately called Wes and he told me that it was the alt.....it does that at WOT. I was so relieved.
