This would be the first RT since having Stage I completed on Monday. I was really looking forward to taking her out on the highway for a couple hours.

Most of the trip was predictable, with the same result at every chance to "play" - my MM pulling away and little satisfaction gained from the experience. I believe the list goes as follows (well, the worthwhile ones anyway):

Dodge Hami, er Hemi Ram
2000 Lincoln LS (my dad's - then we traded cars so I could show him just how much he was missing since he chose to not buy a MM this year - opted for the used 2K LS)
another Dodge Roam, er, Ram from 70-100 MPH (c ya!)
VW Passat
every frickin' Pontiac I saw ("super" Bonneville included) including one very suprised kid in a Sunfire when I got about 1/8 mile ahead of him in 20 seconds.

Like I said, most were predictable. I was beginning to think there was going to be no "real" fun until I got about 15 miles from home. I am doing 80 and I come up on, lo and behold, an Impala SS with both lanes open for miles. I began to pass at which point he jacked his up to 80 to pace me. Without even looking at him I punched it, and so did he.

And I pulled away. :D

Not quickly, mind you, but I was the clear winner and he was reading my rear plates within 5 seconds or so. He then backed off at about 115. My wife was asleep in the passenger seat the whole time - didn't even wake up.

I guess those SSs aren't as scary as I have been led to believe after all. :P

Which leads me to wonder - since I have not lost a race yet in 4500 miles - Would anyone be willing to admit what types of craft they have lost to? (Rocket Sled, X-15 test plane, the space shuttle, and so forth)?

Just a thought.

Thanks,

Loseing isnt good, but my friends Audi TT beat me off the line (6 speed). But we didnt go much further, might have been closer if we did a 1/4 mile. Then I havent had the time to go against my other friends IS300 L-tune. I have taken my friends V6 Stang, a RX7, and a Camaro. BTW one night I was in the TT at a light and there is a Z06 next to us, my friend revs a little, light goes green and next thing we know the vett is gone.

I lost to a Beatle once... but that was only because he was stuck in my grille, so technically he WAS in front of me... Oh well...

In 8400Km (5200 Miles, 8.87X10-10 lightyears) I haven't lost a race. But than again, not challenging things like Vettes and Porche goes with the package.

I used to have a list of cars I beat in my sig, but the list got too long.

Memorable ones were:
BMW 740 - the day I drove the MM off the lot.
Mustang GT's - 3 so far.
Subaru WRX Wagon
Numerous CRX's, Sunfires and Cavaliers. I never get enough of that.

And I'm still stock!

Add a Dodge Stratus 2003 R/T coupe to the list. The guy actually thought he had a chance. :) :nono:

It's fun being so confident you can win that you can wave "good-bye" to your oppenent! He even got a head start.

(For the record the V6 Stratus is fun to drive but it's the car I had immediately preceding the MM, so I know it could not have won unless I was asleep at the wheel.)

I lost to an Impala SS (but it was my SS) when I first got the Marauder, before it broke in. With the mods to the Marauder, it will beat a stock SS consistantly. I also got killed by a '68 Chevelle SS (but it was my SS). My Chevelle beat the Marauder by more than 1.7 sec. (with the 396 motor in it, not the 502). My daughter's Eclipse GT was VERY close, and that was with my mods to the Marauder. But I know that I would KILL my wife's Buick. :D (that thing is an ugly pig)
