I broke mine too. Low/reverse clutch shell I think its called. I think this is a weak spot in these trans. One way bearing failure? I literally broke mine at the weld.

My transmission builder actually referred to it as the "Sun Shell" and I'm glad I went ahead with the rebuild since I had 158K miles on it!!:eek:

Other than that it really looked OK.....BOY is it SNAPPY now!!!!:beer::bows:

That actually looks pretty good. The broze looks nice and shiney. Most of the high milage trans I have seen would have been scored and/or discolored. Still sucks that it failed. These 4R70W's are very reliable at 230hp.
