Long story short, bought this to use at work, but didn't like how I had to pay for the "Blackberry" service. It is brand new, however the original box looks like it was re-used. It is for a Verizon network. Everything is included. These retail for about $400. Price is $200 plus shipping.

How much is the Blackberry service? I'm with Verizon and I've never heard of it.

I believe it's an extra $30 bucks on top of your additional service. Unless the guy lied to me. :dunno: You could call your local VZW store and ask.

I called and they want $24 or $44 on top of the regular service. Screw that, Verizon sucks.

You buy it Rich! To put it simple, I bought this phone for a "bling" factor for work; I thought I could read my e-mails and such when in meetings, but there is no way in hell I'm paying an extra $45 a month on top of my current bill, I don't need it that bad.

Yea Ilss VZW is the only provider that doesn't use a SIM card, that's how they kind of "lock" you into their phones.

There are services that you can have them unlock it for you though.

Old style Sprint was no SIM either, but Nextel does and the new Sprint BB's use SIM cards if they are "World Editions."

You can see if it has a SIM slot by looking under the battery. It may have the hardward and just not be unlocked...dunno.

You could also request your company pay the data services...but the "bling" factor at work may wear off quickly when people expect you to respond within 5mins no matter what the tme or day b/c you have email on the go!

FYI many times these can also be used as wireless modems for laptops. So you can use your unlimited data connection not just for email but also browsing from your laptop whereever you get data-service signal. It's nice if you want that to get the convergence - voice, mobile email, and mobile broadband for the laptop all in one item. You'll just have to verify this model supports that, I know the Nextel 7100's do not but i think that was Nextel's data service that causedt hat.

I HAVE one!!!! I hate it! Dayum thing is like talking into a toy. It's impossible to keep the dayum screen clean and my big ol meathooks are too big to press the buttons! I hate it so bad, I forward my work calls off of it and onto my personal cell and eat the minutes!

OTOH, my co-worker absolutely loves it and never wants to be without it! Go-figure!!!

It does some cool stuff. I even made a Marauder 'theme' for mine. It plays games, does email, internet, etc.
