Driving home yesterday and suddenly the "check engine lite' came on, so I pulled over on the GSP and checked under the hood , couldn't find anything amiss, only a "brown ball" which looked like a nut of some kind that you see squirrels scurrying around with at this time of the year. So I take the MM to the dealer to find the problem since the idle was rough and the throttle response wasn't as normal. Later that day I get a call from the dealer asking me if I live in a wooded area, why I asked and he said that it appears either a field mouse or a squirrel got up under the hood to stay warm or to build a nest by chewing off the insulation from the coil wire and wire harness, causing a short---answer to the problem. anyone else encounter such a problem. By the way I never told the dealer about the "nut" I found under the hood , so it seems he wasn't BS'n me about the chewed wires. Let me know what you think!!!??? Irish:beer:
