Can the stock amp be reused to power 2 speakers? Also, how tricky of wiring would it be since i know its only 1 plug.

This is not for me, for somebody else.

Its not worth the effort to do it. You can buy power amps for very resonable prices now.

Any amp can power as many speakers as you want so long as the amp is not overloaded.

The amp's workload increases as the Ohm count decreases. The lower the ohms, the hotter the amp.

IIRC, the factory sub is 4 ohm. So, you would need a 4 ohm load total.

To determine load:
In series, add load (ex 4+4+4, etc)
In parallel, put 1 over the load then add and flip (ex 1/4 + 1/4 = 2/4 > 4/2 = 2)

To use series and parallel together, combine the equations.

In other words you could use:
2x 8 ohms in parallel for a 4 ohm load (1\8 +1\8 = 2\8 > 8/2 = 4)
2x DVC 4 ohm in parallel with DVC in series (making 8 each) for a 4 ohm load (1/(4+4=8)+1/(4+4=8))=2/8 > 8/2 = 4
4x 4ohm speakers - 2 in series for 2x8 ohm and then each series in parallel for a total of 4 ohms. same equation as above.

So you see we could do this forever... as many speakers as you want. Total power is evenly divided (I know not perfectly, but I'm keeping it simple) among all the speakers. So, if you use 2 speakers, each only gets half the power. 4 speakers, 1/4 each, etc.

So what are you gonna do with 17w each speaker? The stock amp only measures 34 watts!

I run a single 12" svc 100watts max sub-woofer off my factory amp, works well and is def. a lot better than the OEM mid-bass driver they had in there and it only cost me $20 for a pre-fabbed box from Wal-Mart.

Thought it was 100w, my bad. Thanks for your long forumulas though, :D

know of anything decent for a low price? Is fusion automotive decent or is it just colored crap.

What are you trying to do. I need to know what speakers or are you trying to run a sub off the amp.

If you are gonna run a replacement for the stock amp, use MTX since you have no 12V trigger (turn on) at the factory amp. The MTX will turn on when it hears signal in the RCA, hugely simplifying installation.

A low-cost, low watt driver should work better than that iddy biddy woofer the car came with... even on the factory amp!

Oh it does, with the Wal-Mart setup I have for now it vibrates the mirrors and sometimes the change in my cup holders if the exhaust resonation* isn't doing that lol.

Low cost but effective until I put in my JL amps since no one wants to buy them.

Is the OEM amp a two channel sub amp? I know it is a over-rated & low powered, but what exactly did it amplify? I'm tempted to take mine apart, just to see why it has such a large housing.

My single DIN Alpine has more power (x4), plus a tuner, in a smaller housing.

Do you recommend a particular model, wattage range or basically all MTX's operate like this?

Not for me, but its for two 6X9 fusion speakers that are going in a trunk. None of these were my choice, although now we've decided to ditch this sub and try this one for $62.36
