I purchased the Meziere electric water pump from Reinhart. I have searched the Garage forums and read all the articles on the Meziere electric water pump (plus non-Meziere ones). I do not see detailed instrcutions for the pump install, a wiring diagram/schematic or which digital water temperature gauge to buy and install. I would appreciate any help available, please. I can guess the installing the pump is fairly easy. I am more concerned about the wiring and who makes a good digital temperature gauge (and install).

FYI - I called Meziere today (spoke with Greg) and he advised the following:

1.) Review http://mercurymarauder,net or http://mach1registry.org/forums and find DEATILED wiring AND installation instructions from the members. Look for a good pdf document with high resolution photos or an htmlp link with same.
2.) If not provided with the electric water pump, obtain a Meziere Relay Kit (WIK346) from Reinhart. This only monitors power to the pump; not the pump is actually working.
a.) Wire into the fuel injection hot wire; not the battery.
3.) Get a good digital (not analog) water temperature gauge to keep an eye on the pump itself. See the 10/02/04 response from Donny Carlson - http://www.mercurymarauder.net/forums/showthread.php?t=13076

I found these:

Does anyone have expereince with AEM gauges? Is there something better?

I like the idea of a digital gauge displaying Green (all good), Yellow (getting hot) and Red (pull over dip**** before you blow your engine!).

I don't have a schematic. My pump was setup to be powered by one of the unused OEM relays in the fuse panel. A highly talented Ford technician did the mods and install for me.

Here's what I would suggest:
1. Get the relay kit with the pump. It is not a monitoring system, it applies power to the pump.
2. Connect as follows:
Relay contact C to a fuse or circuit breaker, then to battery unswitched 12 v.
Relay coil + to any switched power in the fuse box. Fuel pump is a good one.
Relay coil - to ground. A good ground point is near the batterey on the inner fender.
Relay contact NO to water pump + wire. Use a Delco 2-pin connector.
Water pump - wire to ground. Same ground as the relay coil -, thru the same 2-pin connector.
No need for double-fusing the setup, the one between the unswitched 12v and the relay is ok.
3. Check pump operation before installing in car. Shipping damage can sometimes cause the pump to sieze. Saves a lot of work by bench-testing.
4. Lube the o-ring with antifreeze, install the pump straight and slow.
5. Purge all air from the cooling system, fill from the crossover tube.

That was exactly what I needed.

I have a question, with underdrives, what belt size do you need?

No belt changes needed...

Crank is smaller...But the water pump pully is larger...

This equals out...so no changes to belt length...

I take it you don't have underdrive pullies because the OEM belt is about 1.5" - 2.0" too large. Yes the crank pully is smaller, but the Meziere pully is way smaller than the water pump pully supplied by the underdrive set.
