OK guys your fav topic is back....I am in Texas a 35 percent state....How many have gone with the 35% metallic paper and still passed vehicle inspection. I am afraid the anemic (SP) factory tint mixed with the 35 paper will make me fail inspection but I dont think I would like the look of the 50% paper..... Anyone light metered there 35%? Gotta be right the first time or the Mrs. will surely demand some new shoes as punishmnet!!!!

Anyway let me know :help:

Is Texas that hard on tint? I'm about to move to Dallas I have 20% tint all around. Here in Tennessee the law is 35%, but, it's not enforced, at least not where I'm at.

I looked at 35%,.. it looked like crap to me IMHO. I took a piece of 35% tint and held it against my window. I could still make out every little detail on the dash. Too light for me.

Depends on the inspector....My Dodge Ram was checked with a light meter last time I was inspected.

I have 20% all around. Your right, it does depend on the inspector, luckily there are alot of places that wont even look at it. I say go with the 20% then look around for a "friendly" inspector when the time comes. I can probobly hook you up, I have alot of "friends" in low places around Houston. (sorry for that, haha)

My friends mom works at Mike Calvert Toyota and she was checking to see if she could get me a good price for tinting the windows on ours. But that was 2 months ago.

I've NEVER been light metered during an inspection. Run 20% all around.... Most inspection stations couldn't care less.

Maybe time for a day trip to Dallas come inspection time.....Not to worried about a ticket I have a get out of jail card but what a pain should I have to get two or three inspections....anyway I am gonna go with the 35% all around...dealer suggested 20% on back but I get in some situations with lots of strobe traffic and dark streets its a B**** to see with clear glass.

Thanks For The Feedback

Same here. Alot of cars inspected the last 15 years here......no light meter.......no problemo's.

Course now that I have run my mouth, this time next year I will probably be busting rocks in the big house because of a tint deal gone bad.

I put 35% on front windshield...no enforcement of tint laws in Oklahoma. No inspections for safety or smog equip in OK either.

I have 35% tint all around and have had no problems.I also find it doe'snt hinder my night vision? Some one at the Chicago Dyno told me his 20% rear tint kept his anti-glare feature on his rearview mirror from working correctly?

The anti-glare feature doesn't work on mine either (20% all around). The tint eliminates the need for that feature, anyway.

I must say that I am very glad I went with 20% all around and not 5% or 35%. From the outside, if it's light out, you can *barely* see in. If it;s dark out, you can't see anything inside my car. From the inside, though, it's nice and light. No complaints about night driving. It's juuuuust right. Several people have commented on my windows and thought it was 5% (from the outside).

As for inspection, NJ says that we can't have ANY tint on the front doors. NONE! But hey, our "new car" inspection stickers are good 'til 2007. That means I can mod the car to the hilt and not have to worry about it for another 4 years. YIPPEEEE

You have been lucky so far. Front windows are a no no in Illinois

My barber who owns a Condo in Florida got stop twice in Downers Grove for having tinted windows on the front. He finally scrap it off, I guess he decided he didn’t want that ticket. Told him he should have Florida plates!

Beware of the metallic tints. They can block the radar detector and increase your radar profile.

I LOVE my FormulaOne, 35%...I held out like some of you...you won't BELIEVE the difference in the looks and the heat resistance. Can't recommend tinting this car enough!!

So I got the car back 35% all around at xtreme tint on Louetta they did a great job except one small prob a scratch in the film about one inch long on the drivers window right where I look to see the side mirror...its driving me crazy and I wont be able to go w/o the car for replacement until next week arghh means no windows down for the three days from original install and then three days after the repair.
