I just had a very pleasant trip to Marauderville (Ennis), TX. Arrived about 11 AM. Took some pictures of the Raceway entrance--drove downtown and stopped at the O'Reilly Auto Store and was promptly taken on a tour of the store---got everything, oil, polishes, cleaning materials, etc plus a great and knowledgable staff. O'Reilly is the major sponsor of the raceway and will support us any way they can--will be open right through the week-end. They also showed me where the car washes were and which were good. Visited the Chamber of Commerce and have a sack full of goodies, including a detailed city map. Visited with the owner of the Quality Inn--great guy who wants us in his hotel (sorry, no more "Marauder " room available). To sum it up, I will check out the highway approaches just prior to the event and post best routes, highways to avoid due to construction, and where rush hour problems are worst. I started photographing important highway signs and exit signs--sure helps to know exactly how they look. Also--there is over a $.10/gal difference in gas prices in less than 5 miles !!! I'll get all the info together and post it in time for planning purposes. PLENTY of food around--looks like a great place to meet. See you in Sept. , Maury

I guess I get to be the first to say "Thank you" and I'm sure I speak for all of us who will be visiting the Lone Star state come September.

Gotta love friends like this.

Thanks Logan, for the clock---I'm looking forward to meeting all you great folks--hey, man, all I'm doing is getting to enjoy driving my MM and meeting nice people. I am very serious about the traffic thing--our highway system is weird and the labeling is crazy. That's why I'm taking pictures if the highway signs---so I won't post the wrong instructions--I can tell you one thing for sure--DO NOT plan on using I-35E from Dallas to Ennis--it's a mess. I am plotting approaches from all directions and will make recommendations based on registered attendees addresses. Will keep you posted...oh yeah, I have an Ennis telephone book and all the C of C brochures--need to know anything--e-mail me or use PM--counting the minutes, Maury

Is it going to be cooler in the area by then? Dallas at 107F this week! Hope it's cooler by next month! (especially for such dark cars)

Cooler?! hhahahhaha... That's funny.

Expect 100 degree temperatures and you won't be disappointed. If it's only 90 degrees, well.... Bonus!

On top of that the asphalt pit area will soak up ALL the heat and melt your shoes!
I'll be there anyway - I guess I'm just used to it since I've lived here all my life!
