Headlamp blues

hello folks I have a 2003 CV lx. the headlamps will all of a sudden cut off and come back on at any given time. when I flick on the high beams during the headlamps blacking out the highs will work in one position but not the other. After the headlamps come back on then the highs will work as they should. Through the blackout the parking lights and all turn signals work fine.
Has anyone had this problem? any suggestions will be greatly appreciated thanks.

Check and see if you've got separate circuit breakers for your low and high beams,them check the connections,clean as as needed,I think it's either that or the dreaded well known Ford MFS ,multi function switch malfunction.That's your low/high beam,turn signal and washer/wiper switch on the left side of your sterring column.They're infamous for going bad in some form or another.
