4 years ago today, I got up at 3am and drove the 775 miles from Lufkin, TX to Athens, TN to pick up my brand new, leftover 03 Marauder. I'd made the deal with the owner of the dealership a few days before. I split credit for the great deal I made between the fact that the car had been sitting on the lot for 18 months unsold, and the fact that the owner was at the Ford Dealers' convention in Vegas.

Picking up the car was the quickest and easiest car transaction I've ever made. Looked the car over, test drove it (it was the first time I'd ever driven a Marauder!), signed a few pieces of paper, and took off. The plan was to drive back the 45 minutes or so to Chattanooga and spend the night. Driving the car turned out to be so enjoyable we went all the way back to Birmingham that night, for a 1000 mile day.

Normally the car gets driven on its anniversary, but today, I just forgot. It sat at home all day, waiting patiently. Poor thing is still not going to get driven at all today, and mostly likely not tomorrow due to crappy weather.

It has been a pleasure to own and drive. It's generated great memories of events and get togethers. It still draws complements EVERY time that I drive it. Build quality is in the toilet. It easily has the worst paint of any car in recent memory. But, and it's a BIG but, NO vehicle has ever made me feel the way I do when I drive it. 47,000 miles later, and it's still as much fun as when I got.

Hope y'all have enjoyed it as much as I have!

She'll forgive ya,bu it might cost some bling parts or something just like a live breathing female, lol. A good wash and wax & detail job might do it,females can be suckers for a beauty treatment or a day at the spa.

Your sooooo right..............Mr. J.

Every day I look forward to holding on to Silverback's steering wheel.

I just love to put the petal down and feel that 3500 torque converter and 4:10 gears pull that big sedan ahead of the pack. It's OK, 'cause I'm waiting for them at the next light to catch up so I can do it all over again.

Happy Anniversary!
I still love the Marauder too.
Mine turned four a few weeks ago.
