I just left the dealer while purchasing a master window switch module and one for the front passenger door.

This is the 4th master switch 'module' that has been on the car. The original, the replacement the previous owner did, the one I did about 5000 miles ago, and the one I replaced today because my window was down and wouldnt go up when I pulled into work this morning. Luckily the dealer is about 1 mile away from my work.

This is also the 2nd or third switch that has been replaced on one of the other doors.

All have been under warranty till today. $50+ for the master switch and over $60 for the single switch for passenger door.

The dealer told me the failure was because of armor-all so I didnt even armor-all the window switches after the last replacement. But now 2 more switches replaced again.

And in fact, the switches haven't even been used hardly in the last year and half. My car had the blown engine for a while before I got all the parts and then it was at Dennis' shop for 5 months. That whole time the windows werent even used basically.

Darn, that pissed me off to have to spend $130 to replace something for the 3rd time......

Thanks for listening.

PS I know I could have got the parts cheaper from Ray, or Dennis, or another friend of mine. But I couldnt leave my window down at work all day.

Does rain drip onto the switch panel when the windows are open?

I know it does on mine and really annoys me.

my CV had both front windows stuck down last november.... yeah it was fun making the 30 minute drive to work with them

my MM has problems too. the light never worked on the drivers window switch, and now it just came back on faintly. but i must press hard or more towards the middle of the switch for the window to go up.

Seems like there is a how-to instructional on repairing your windows switches around here somewhere.

I do my best not to drive in the rain. And when I do get caught in it I try and wait it out. I would say rain would have dripped in maybe 2 or 3 times in the last 2 years. Otherwise I just drive my truck which I dont care if it gets muddy, wet, etc...

PS I have the vent shades that change where the water drips either way. It hits the window sill (if you can call it that) instead of the switches. But some does hit the switches as well.

I think it is for repairing the lights.... If someone finds a way to fix ones that dont roll the window up and down please like to the thread or post here.

I kept the one I replaced today and will be taking it apart to try and identify what failed and maybe a way to fix it if servicable.

Both driver side and passenger side switch control panels are popping up/loose. How do you fix that?

Replace them. Somebody removed them improperly and broke the tabs off at the back of the panel. Proper removal, pop them up at the front, then slide forward. If you pry them up evenly or at the back, the tab that slides under the door panel will break off.
