<HR style="COLOR: #ccffff" SIZE=1><!-- / icon and title --><!-- message -->i need some info (yes i'm a real rookie)
is the Detroit Locker True-Trac Rear Differential 8.8 Rear End a stand alone part all by itself or do we still need the Ford Racing 8.8" 4.10 Ring & Pinion Kit to make it a 4.10 gear ratio?

The differential and the ring & pinion are sold separately. You need both to make a complete working unit.

^^^ This is correct.

Also, if all you want is to change from a 3.55 to a 4.10 ratio you do not need to change the differential, you can use the stock Trak-Lok limited slip.

If you're having 1 wheel peel issues, you can rebuild the Trak-Lok or upgrade the diff while the gears are out.

If you want to upgrade the diff to a stronger more robust unit then you can get the diff.

If you just want to change gears and are otherwise happy with the performance of the trak-lok oem diff then you just need a set of gears and an install shop. (Plus the applicable 4.10 retune for the speedo and trans schedules.)
