Allow me to take this moment to explain why I love these cars. Nearly a century ago, Mr. Henry Ford built and campaigned what many would consider (at that time) a revolutionary performance car. He raced this car and won enough money, as far as he was concerned, to build a small empire of vehicular history. God bless this man for creating, what i think, is the greatest testament to automotive "due diligence" I can think of; Ford Motor Company. This proves, beyond a shadow of a doubt, that Ford will always owe its roots to motor sports.

My grandfather had a very early Mercury Monterey, and it is because of that iconic Mercury I decided to buy my Marauder. I am very proud of the heritage that these cars carry, and can tell anyone that reads this thread that my 300A will die with me. The fact that FMC and Mercury decided to revitalize this moniker is amazing, poor marketing aside, this is , and will be, one of the best cars this company has EVER produced. Thank you all for loving these cars, I hope that what I have written here helps to forge an even stronger love for these machines.

I just moved to Charlotte in November, drove the moving truck with all our stuff down here on my 30th birthday, "happy birthday to me"! So far I love it here, and its great to find a community like MM.net. I have had my 300A since 2005, and won't ever part with her (my MM and '89 lx 5.0 have become friends, cant seperate them now, plus they have both taken a liking to my '83 t-bird turbo coupe!). I am hoping to get out of this tiny apartment soon, and get some garage space so my mustang and turbo coupe can come down here, they are in storage right now in PA.

What is the mfg date on the drivers door state--that will tell alot along with whats on the car or removed---meaning when it started to become "decontended".....
