My boss wants to race the CHARGER (4160 lbs) in spring time once the tracks open with his 08 Jeep Wrangler (4294 lbs) w/6.4 HEMI (80 lbs more than stk 3.8) motorswap for my RAISE due around that time and i said i'm not sure ...so for u race gurus , weight an physics gurus please tell me what u guys think about this please ..... should i bother ? Will it be close ? My mods are below and his list will be in the link below plus the jeep is a 4dr , has a heavyduty bumper w/ warn 9000 lbs winch , skidplate in the front so i'm guess those three thing have to be a minimum of 100lbs altogether an not to mention his wheel an tire set-up is a set of 17" rims with tire size of 35 X12.50X R17 . Lastly his JEEP isnt the rubicon so it doesnt have the big gear BUT he is getting special treated axles in the rear so they don't break and heres the link for the swap an its going 2 weekends from now . http://www.burnsvilleoffroad.com/Hemi/Hemi57.aspx
Get a new job, thats my honest opinion

Get a new job, thats my honest opinion Can u elaborate ? This jeep is a hardtop (isnt light)......the wheels an tires gotta kill it with a 3:21 gear in the rear right ? Owner said no body ran theres at a track out of the 6 conversions he has done but estimated high 12s to low 13s which is in my ballpark supposely with the mods i have .

Damn...is it even legal to race for a raise? How is that going to stand up on Judge Judy???
If you win, you get a raise and maybe the hardest time of your life after that...If you lose you get no raise, you get the chargers name drug thru mud...etc....etc...The choice is yours! Good Luck and keep us posted

That's just silly. A guy at work has the SRT-8 Jeep with only a few mods and I can tell you he's destroyed SRT-8 300's and Charger's. Not sure because he will have all the extra weight compared to the SRT-8 Jeep. It will be close.

Saw an SRT-8 Jeep run 11.4 at Bradenton 3 weeks ago. It had a vortech on it and was AWD. You never know what is sitting in the lane next to you anymore.

Any boss that hangs the possibility of a raise over you has told you what he thinks you are worth to him, nothing!

He's got you by 100 HP and has lower gears. Forget about it. If he can afford 33k on an engine package ask for a bigger raise.

I got positive an negative responses an i dont understand .... the owner of that motorswap shop says he estimates the 1/4 run be anywhere a stock SRT8 charger runs but never had one go to a track before ... these are not my words so i thought i had a chance considering the EXTRA weight he has an NOT swapping a rear gear on it .

My job and my raise are not jokes to me. I think you should evalulate your future working for him.
I only have a couple of sentences to base what I am saying on.

I'm sure the raise comment was just a joke. He'll probably give you a raise anyway just for the fun of racing you. Unless he is a bad loser.

Funny seeing how an SRT-8 Jeep with a CAI/Tune and exhaust runs low 12's.

Not funny at all...the wrangler is not built for speed. He is going to have to do ALOT more than a motor to make a offroad machine smoke a sportscar in the quarter mile.
The SRT8 Jeep is lower, aerodynamic, it has wider performance tires, beefed up suspension, and it has been programmed to go fast, not climb a mountain. I stand by mystatement.

Honest Opinion
1. Honesty - Seriously, do you think you'll get that from this group?
2. Opinion - You know the saying, "opinions are like ***holes, everyone has one" Especially on this site.
You should know better than to ask for either here.
Just kidding you know.

Off road tires are famous for high speed vibrations...All that rubber makes them real difficult to balance (for high speeds)...
Those jeeps that have quick times, I will bet, did NOT have off road tires on them...These tires will not hook up, and thus will spin alot...
Plus, the heavy winch and bumpers...
If you can pull low 13's, I think you can take him...IMHO...
Good Luck...
ALOHA
BTW: I have had a few try to keep up with the Bronco, both off-road and street...No Dice...Some break while trying...The rest just give up...The Bronco is KING...

Again read post ^^^^^^above ...theres not a chance he will win even if u were driving the jeep because the 6.1 is going in .

He wouldn't win anyways, even if he was still going with the 6.4l; not with those mud tires on. I think he'd have a good shot if he had the 6.4l with different tires on.
