Its done to the tranny to make you shifts feel tighter and quicker. I think its a few springs removed or somethings like that similar to doing a shift kit on the AOD....But just the tune alone helps that out alot.

I beg to differ. Ive driven 4 Trilogy cars and they all shifted like slush without trans work.

Call Darrin....He's a great guy who can help you out!!

I did the J-Mod and hit a few snags....called Darrin on a Saturday and he talked me through them!!:bows:

Marauderjack:burnout:

PS: You can do the J-mod yourself for about $35.00 and a few hours rolling in trans fluid on the garage floor!!

Can someone give us a writeup on how to do the Jmod maybe a few pics or point me to a link where I can find the info?

This writeup is about as good as any and the photos and a big help though for older trans!!

http://www.dndgarage.net/jmod.htm

Pretty straight forward and the only cautions/suggestions I would offer:

1. Loosen the valve body and drain it well before removing.....minimize "fluid shower"!!

2. Get a GOOD set of snap ring pliers and use a bottle jack to hold the 1-2 accumulator base in place while removing snap ring or the base, springs and piston will FLY out.....WOW....where'd it go??!! :mad2:

Otherwise a very simple and VERY effective modification!!:bows:
