Ive seen it and personally I perfer the Bigger tires in the rear "rake" look, The only plus I might see in something like that is that it will make the car accelerate quicker..

I had them on for while after both of my rear tires went flat in a matter of a few days (3 nails in one and 2 in the other) and 235/50s were the only tire at the time that I could get next day.
Other than the fact I had to turn my traction control off everytime I drove it otherwise under 50-75% acceleration or when I would hit 45-50mph it would kick on. If you don't have traction control and a flash tuner to adjust the revs per mile it's fine, plus you will be able to rotate the tires.
As for now I will always have a bigger tire in the back, I enjoy the look of the rake and tire well filled up.

300a already comes that way... no assembly required... I don't mind it at all... when I burn the back tires down I can rotate them front to back and continue:burn:

too bad it would be "I dont think so TOM!" Anyways... I have them all the way around and I don't have traction control (300A!!!!) so I have no complaints with the same size all the way around. Why would you quote al boreland anyways? he is a fat man with a fat mother who wears flannel all the time... plus he is tim's assistant... he assists TIM!!

Well, my mother is not fat, but I am partial to flannel, and food. I am also sporting a 300A with no traction control. I got the bigger tires in back, though, as they rolled of the assembly line.

I'm not fighting anyone... I stand corrected on the 300a thing... I spoke with someone about my spare and maybe that is what he meant is that 300a's had the same size spare... soooooorry!!! I don't want no trouble holmes. I am here to learn and make friends... not get people mad and right now I feel I have learned something and that I will make some friends.

I think you can just throw the same tires on the rears on MMs without traction control, otherwise it goes nuts after a certain speed.

Yes sir, we lucked out with full size spares;) No fighting here:cool4: I think Tim was very inept and ended up blowing something up every week:rolleyes: I would rather stand by Al, the long time faithful steadfast assistant always willing to help out anyone who asked. Not to mention the flannels:coolman:

I looked at the door and you guys are correct... thank you... next tires I buy might be the right once so I can have a meaner stance... it would jack up the rear a little right?

The cars he had on the show that he worked on and built from scratch came out nice!! Granted he dropped an i-beam on a Nomad... but hey, we all make mistakes

No rubbing on bumps with such 'phat' tires
ctrlraven

Nope, no rub at all, the only thing I did worry about with rubbing was my KVR SS brake lines but I just twisted those around and not a problem. Being NA it takes a little more to break them loose but the added width helps them stay planted in the corners.
Catching people sleeping at the light lol.

245/55s you can see the difference of how they feel up the gap.

Does not having smaller tires or larger for that matter all the way around eliminate your ABS brakes?
Does not having smaller tires on the back make you accellerate slower. Easier but slower.
And the reason that we had to have 245 55 18's in the rear not anything larger is that if there is an air suspension failure there exists a slight possibility of the tires rubbing and causing a problem, potentially dangerous problem.
Ever so slight chance but enough to have Ford/Mercury run to the 245 55 18's instead.

i believe your tires just have to keep the same proportions. my snow tires, all 225/60/16, throw on my ABS light because it senses a slip above 60mph

i got all 35's on mine but it was because of the backorder that bf goodrich had on the 245's. i also have traction control so i have to turn it off every single time i get in the car. it really doesnt matter to me but the 35's are less expensive.

Yeah, I'm running the bigger tires in all four corners to allow me to rotate. This has almost doubled my tire wear, but you're right about the T/C. I've just made it a habit to punch the T/C button off every time I start up the car and no problems.

I just had some put all the way around on mine. Hit me up tomorrow to remind me and I'll be sure to snap some pictures when I get off from work...
BTW, Sorry I missed you on my way to and from TX last summer.

Well Im a tire guy and have ran 255/45-18 all he way on mine for the last 6 months or so. But since mine is Blue I have that pesky t/c button issue. But I would like to know if it is possible to use a flash tuner or any other means to change our ECMs so to compincate for the change in tire size?

go 235s they are cheaper and easyer to find at the tire store... and i dont think you will dissapointed....
i dont like that when you look at stock tires you see all that sidewall in the back...
the 235s make the whole car look a little more like low-profile tires
and i havnt noticed any mph difference, im sure there is 2-3 mph there couldnt be any more than that
235 all around in all pictures

I've got the 235's all around. Don't have any pics posted with it that way. I do love the increased tire mileage because I'm able to rotate the tires now. It doesn't look that bad, and there are a huge number of choices in that size, some very reasonable. Next time around, I'm going with 255/55's all the way around. The 235/50's are a little much with 4.10's.

Here is one with stock OEM rear tires switched on the front rims and Pirelli 285-50-18 in the rear, my current set-up.
The front suspension/spring is stock and the rear is ajusted slightly lower. Nice fender filler à la BMW on all 4 corners, no TC issue or AbS issue thanks to a slightly over 2% overall diameter difference front and back.
This raise the front due to diameter gain a little bit too much to my taste. I will rework the front end this summer with a soon to be determined new size for the front and cut 3/4 coil.
