Going to work this morning, I have to merge on to the northbound interstate for just a short stretch. The 270 degree cloverleaf starts as two lanes, then narrows to one before merging with the interstate.
I came up alongside a BMW 328i just as we entered the long turn for the cloverleaf. The BMW boy tried to beat me to the merge. He didn't and I laid on the MM kinda hard and took him by a length and a half on the inside of the turn. Dayum this car holds the turns well. :D I think he may have been a little surprised.
Not a real "kill" but a lesson nonetheless.
:seesaw:
I am calling your home to tell your wife you are drag racing on public roads again. You should be ashamed of yourself for picking on 4 cylinder cars that weight less then you.:argue:

230hp eh? So im guessing its the newer one.
Funny, i know someone with a 98 328i who keeps asking for a race. Although it has had some weight shed, the drivers door is rusting
Sounds like you had a fun time on the autobahn i mean roadway :)

I think a handling kill against a car known or at least advertised as a handling car is a GREAT KILL!

Didn't I answer this question back on 31 October 2007. ;) Yes, I did. :o
Charlie did you install your LiveWire tune yet? If so how do you like it?
I loaded up the LW tune from DR several weeks ago. The car has more pep and shifts much firmer. It doesn't hunt around at low speeds any more. Seems much quicker; but I haven't really laid on it yet for an extended run or done a 1/4 mile check. On the highway, it now wants to hold at 65 MPH under mild throttle pressure. Before it would push on to 72 MPH and hold. Maybe this is a function of the OD setting or shift points?? Basically, this means if I want to cruise at 72-75 MPH, I gotta use a little more right foot than I have gotten used to. Of course, backing out of the driveway requires very little throttle -- max 1/8 inch. :D
Its a "foolproof" install. Ask me how I know?
Actual install time was about 10 minutes and that includes 5 extra minutes for me to get comfortable with the handheld tuner adjusting the visuals, contrast, brightness, etc. I did spend about 15-20 minutes getting familiar with the SCT Live Wire features and processes by reading the instruction manual.
The device plugs into the OBDII port just under the dash on the driver's side near the console. Only goes in one way. When you upload the new tune, the system saves the old tune. You can reverse the process by restoring the original tune from the device.
I won the SCT Live Wire at the Marauderville V Vendor Raffle .... thanks, DR.
