Can I make an assumption the this is good ATF for the 04 MM tranny? Bottle says full synthetic where the Castrol was a semi. The Mobil 1 was $8 a quart, not going to happen for normal day to day service and only seeing the track once in 55k miles. The Ford Asset Program at the local college has offered to flush the tranny and replace the filter gratis.

The Castrol Mercon V ATF I have doesn't say anything about being semi blend. It's directly made for Ford vehicles.

Thanks RF. The Castrol was at Advance and said semi on the front of the bottle. For .24 cents more the Valvoline says its full synthetic. Probably does not matter much anyway.

I bought a case of it from Advance. Still don't see synthetic-blend (semi) on it.

Maybe the stuff I saw yesterday was old? It was towards the bottom of the bottle and said Semi Syntheic ATF. I believe it was $3.88 a quart which is why I did not buy. The Advance store brand also has to be at least a semi to be Mercon V and was considerably cheaper. I'm sure it does not make any difference as Castrol makes a good product.

It may not say it on the bottle, but to meet the Mercon V spec, the base fluid must be at least semi-synthetic.
