Looks amazing in general, what are we supposed to be critiquing? Thanks, sorry I guess I wasn't clear about that. I just wanted to know how it looked as far as a black and white pic.

My monitor is a compulsive liar when ever I alter photos and post them on the net.

I like black/white photos...This one is very nice...

I would only add that the background takes away from the car...if it was one boat and a clear horizon...that would be beautiful!!!!

As a black and white photo it looks very good. But as for constructive criticism, the background with the pilings, shed and numerous boats are too strong with sharp angles that really distract the eye. Also almost nitpicking here but, you can see the mirror in the paint of the car and the other cars are distracting and a more open area with sky filling the paint would have been better.

But on the whole its a beautiful shot for those like myself living in/around the city where open uncluttered pictures are rare.

I agree w/the others who said the background is too busy. It's a really nice photo, but it's too cluttered.

It's my screen saver of the month. + 4, A less obtrusive background would focus the eye on just the car.

Awesome! :)

Ever thought about trying a black and white sunset shot? Get it a good angle and it'd turn out great.

Its hard NOT to have a good picture when its a black marauder. I especially like the tires.

joking i know reba is dtr. Do they still make those tires in our size???

I think it's great, didn't even notice it was B&W.

The Marauder is so dominant and focused the back ground is just that back ground.

My eyes go directly to the Marauder. The back ground is only busy when I actively look at it instead of the Marauder.

Me too, great photo. I focused on the MM, and really didn't notice anything in the background.

Thanks guys for all the comments. I was primarily focusing on my black and white conversion technique, as I had made some changes in both my Photoshop settings and my monitor. I've always had a hard time getting pics that looked good on my screen to look the same for everyone else. It's probably time to get a better monitor, but for now, I'm trying to work with what I have.

I did get a lot of good tips about the background, and reflections, which I will try to remember the next time I take Reba out and shoot her. :gunfire:

I do appreciate all of those tips and suggestions.

I'm not a photographer but can you have the car in color and the background in black&white?

as well as the background the angle is a little odd. if you got lower it may have looked a little better. over all it looks pretty sweet. very high quality.

Hey John;

Looking good! The black and white conversion is good since it looks like a black Marauder.

The car looks like crap, I'll give you $1200.00 for it right now, he he.

All the poles coming out of the roof & hood are distracting, and the roof over the boats is not very attractive.

I'm not a photographer but can you have the car in color and the background in black&white?Yes Georges93LX, you certainly can. It can only be done with a Blue, Silver or DTR Marauder though.

The problem in this shot is the reflections from the bright sky. They look a little unnatural on the hood and top of the car. That can all be fixed, but it takes more time. I just wanted to show you that it can be done.

HHhmmmmmm... how bout leaving the MM in focus and blurring out the background some? Or..... leave the MM in focus and fade the background by 50 percent? Just random thoughts... Love the photos!

I prefer the post #31 pic to the post #36 pic. I like the background with the DTR highlighted. IMHO the one with no background at all is less appealing. The ragged edge shadow under the car is also distracting. My opinion.

I just thought since everyone had a problem with the cluttered background, that I would totally do away with it. I appreciate your comments.
