View Full Version : It's official, the harley's dead.

It's official, the insurance company decided to total the 2k miles 03 Harley I owned... Going down tomorrow to strip my stuff off it. It's so new, they're just going to reimburse the sales price + ttl - .15/mile.
Soooooooooo.... Time to go hunting for my next vehicle, which I've decided will be.... Drum roll pls....
...another :banana2: Marauder :banana2:
This time, I'll be going to town with it once procured. I'm not interested in a new one, the depreciation curve is too high. I'll be on the hunt for a low mileage car(5k or around abouts...I don't wanna have to break in another motor, wanna hit the ground runnin'!).
Will travel for a car in the $21k range (Already sent a note to James Hart), otherwise will be hunting for a reasonably close $22.5-23k car, preferably on a dealer's lot for financing simplicity and best rates.
Color? Don't care. 300A or B? Don't care. Options? Don't care.
Sooooo... Everyone go find me a car, and ummm don't be sending me links to ones with purple pinstriping. :bandit:
Will be ready to pick it up late next week...

I loved it last year, no reason I won't love it this year too. This time I'll be on the right side of the depreciation curve, so I'll be able to own it in good conscious for quite some time to come...

Depreciation?
Is that where you buy a new car and 12 months later find out you still owe as much as a brand new one costs?
:alone:
Oh well, at least I'm putting away all that extra money in my 401.
Ummm, wait a minute,,,,,,,,:help:

Not to get ahead of yourself here...but once the new ride is yours....what is on your top ten list of things to do, assuming it is bone stock?!
Logan
08-07-2003, 06:54 PM
1. Chip/Stat/Plugs
2. 4.30 Gears
3. Rear Sway Bar
4. Eibach Springs
5. Long Tubes and exhaust
6. Air Intake mods
7. Gauge pillar addition and replacement of factory autometer gauges with the real deal.
8. Window Tint
9. Stereo replacement w/ DVD & screens in the head rests for the kiddies.
10. Driveshaft
11. Vortech Kit
12. Install my M20 Blinder and V1
Not necessarily in that order. I'll be getting as much of it done before FFW as possible. Should be able to do everything except the supercharger by then...

Too bad about the truck bro. Ever think about buying the motor from the insurance and stuffing it in the Marauder? Now that would be One Bad Apple!

Logan, I glad you considered another MM, but why #5 (long tubes instead of short ones)?

Good advice from a *cough* good *cough* man? Anyway...
Yes, welcome! I will, however, save the offical welcome for our man John. ;)
I just hope you're not another one of those backwards hat wearin', pop music blarin', rental car burnin', young whipper snappers in a hot rod 4-door! You gotta respect this car! :D

Logan,
Go for James' MM. He's got the best deal out there and all the car needs for now is an oil change and few coats of Zaino.

Rauder... Owned a very early 300A, started this website, modified it, sold it in December after discovering the rather nasty depreciation curve that was creeping up on them. Cost me about 1500 to get out from under it, but now, a year later, 03's are going for $21-24k used, which turns them back into a buy buy buy car... :)
RoylPita, I've sent him an email, no response...
Logan, Im going to be in Ennis in Sept, so you can see your old MM. see ya there

Welcome home, again. I think that the Marauder fits your image as "The Boss Man":pimp: of this awesome site. Just like the commercial states "I'm not only the founder of this establishment, I'm also a member", or something like that, anyways glad to have you back in the drivers seat.

Sorry to read you lost a Harley Logan.
I sold my Harley to purchase my GM. It was a wise move with one kiddo and another on the way. But I sure miss my Sportser.
