Does anyone that reads this forum know where I can get a performance engine, supercharged that will fit into the Marauder?

I recently blew up my stock motor and would like to replace it with a performance motor.

any suggestions would be greatly appreciated

You've been on this board since 2004, and you're actually asking this question????

Don't really know for sure but what about Trilogy Motorsports? Isn't this where members were going for this? Also, The Learning Channel has that show called "Wrecks to Riches" and the guys there always use Jon Barrett Hot Rod Engines but I get the impression they are very expensive. They restored a Plymouth Road Runnder and said they paid $ 13,000 for a 426 Hemi on one episode last year as I recall. By the way, I heard a rumor which may or may not have been true when our Marauders were first introduced. I thought I heard they were thinking about dropping a Mustang Cobra engine in Marauders but it never materialized. Does this mean the Cobra engine wouldn't fit? Would someone at Lincoln mercury be able to tell you if this can be done.

And this answers his question how? If you noticed he only has 23 posts. Contact one of our vendors on the board. Give Wes a call at Innovative Interceptors and see what he can do for you. Most people just drop an 03/04 Cobra motor in it with the Eaton sitting pretty on top.

thanks guys,

sorry if I was unclear. I know there are a lot of modifications available for the Marauder. What I would like is a complete engine. Not one I would have to put together myself as my mechanical skills are not at that level.

My rational was to buy a complete engine and get a dealership to install it, and I am concerned about quality and reliability. Just wanted to get some feedback about what you guys think is the way to go. A stock new marauder engine costs about 11k here in canada based on what the dealership told me and I though if I spent like 11 - 15 k on an engine I would like a little better performance than just stock.

either way, thank you again for the feedback

What would it take to put a 5.4L engine in?

Would a hood scoop work for the clearance?

How about one of those 5.0L engines someone on here has.

I think he wants something better than a stock replacement.

Yes I know the cobra engine is better.

You can get a Ford Reman w/ a warranty. W/ core the Marauder Long Block is ~$4,300 and the Cobra Long Block is ~$4,800.

W/ the Cobra Long Block you will need to purchase a S/C.

You can also buy a complete Marauder Engine or a complete Cobra Engine.

Do a search or look at my posts in the past 90 days. There has been a lot of info on this recently. http://www.mercurymarauder.net/forums/showthread.php?t=40318

There are a lot of options and we can't really answer your question.

Unless your engine was in Dante's Inferno you probably only need a long block.

The performance of a Marauder Engine can easily be increased with a tune, exhaust or S/C system.

If up to 450RWHP and low 12.0 second 1/4 miles are what you want go with a Marauder Engine.

Zack has a cobra short block for sale. I have two stock Marauder long blocks for sale, but I don't ship to Canada.

No, I have a forged Aluminum shortblock here with 9.75:1 pistons.

I will only sell it if the car is brought to me and i do the work!

Jerry Barnes has a race ready Marauder engine for sale.
He could hook you up with a supercharger and better than , a dealership install.
best of luck!
how many miles on your Marauder?

Thanks guys.

I would not be able to ship the car I don't think. As far as the Mileage, it has 100k km or about 62500 miles on it.

I know its not perfect, but I really like the car and want to make it go again so I just have to find a motor.

as far as what happened to the motor you ask? actually you didn't but I'm gonna tell you anyway. I work out of town and my wife used it as her get around mobile. Apparently it was unimportant for her to check the oil or even to get an oil change for the last 20k. So by the time it got to the dealer it had no oil in it. So there you go ....

FRPP 2008 catalog has listed the new Aluminator short and long block engines for N/A and SC applications. The engines are all new forged and HD parts. I would seriously look at these engines.

She must be a blonde.

A girl friend in high school drove a 1974 white Delta 88 convertible. This is when we went from full service to self serv gas stations. IT had the 455 a notorious oil burner.

She burned up the motor, no oil. She drove it for a year w/out checking.

She was a real head turner with her long natural blond Farrah Faucet looks in that Delta 88 convertible!:D

Between that and the low gas mileage her father junked it.

Now she is an oncology nurse.

Now this reminds me. She was a cheer leader for an all boys HS known for it's atheletic achievements. Over the course of 2 years I dated the entire cheer leading squad for this boys school. I would wear my own school sweater and sit in the bleachers during basketball season when I went to pick them up for a date. The boys at this school did not know how to handle me.

I went to a rival school, sat in their section and left with their cheer leaders!:banana2:

When my dreams come true and I actually get a Marauder- I'm going to build an aluminum 5.4 with forged internals and low compression and find a way to fit a whipple or KB on top...
