Anyone out there have any tips on what to look out for when shopping for a 2003 Marauder, i.e. problem areas, equipment choices, etc. Also I would like to know what should I look for as a realistic price to pay at this time of the year ? Thanks for any comments.

Welcome! You did come to right place! This has been talked about a few times. Depends on the area your in but 27000 is a good starting point. We have seen them a little lower and some higher. There is a 300A-Only in black. A 300B in Black, Blue, Silver. Do a search in the box on the top left to find out more. The A car was the first "run" made till about mid November '02??

Great car read up and go get it!

Howdy, Rapsco-- as far as options, you won't have much to choose from. As stated above, the 300B comes in blue or silver as well as black, but I think those are much rarer and may be more difficult to find. About the only options are the trunk mounted CD changer, Moon roof (dealer option) and spoiler (dealer option). Oh, yeah, there is a trunk organizer that is available. Other than that, this beast comes with everything from the factory. Good luck. Hang around this site and you will learn a lot. Let us know what you find.

Hello Ross, I appreciate your answer. I live in Port Arthur, so we are almost neighbors. I had only seen Marauders in mags until about two weeks ago when I was passing through East Texas and saw one and stopped and drove it and of course fell in love with it. I don't think there are any at any local dealers. I am going to be in Houston on Monday. Do you have a suggestion where I might look for one in Houston? And do you have any idea of what the general asking price is? I have learned since my research has begun(in the last two weeks) that there seems to be model A and model B. Do you have a suggestion here? Thanks for any further info you will share with me. Rapsco

I've got the blue B model. B's are missing the seperate console clock, map pockets, interior gas cap lock and grilles over the rear speaker deck, but, does have heated seats (probably not necessary where you are) and traction control. I have the dealer installed moon roof and spoiler. The dealership did a bad spoiler install, but, the moon roof is "primo" work. Hope this helps some.

Hey, Rap-- before you drive to Houston, check out the Lincoln Mercury dealer in Orange (don't know the name). A few weeks ago I saw a couple of Marauders there.

[FOundefinedNT=Arial Black]undefinedund[SIZitalic bold E=2]undefined2efinedI'm not very computer literate but here goes. I've been looking and wanting a Marauder for a year and a half so on March 15 I made the move. I was going to buy new until I called a dealer in Belvidere,Illinois. They had an '03 with 3500 miles on it. It was black (my second choice) but how could I pass it up for 23400! Good things come to those who wait. So it was born in Nov. 02 and adopted Mar.04. I'm so happy with the car so far and the deal. Now if only I can figure out how to use this stupid computer, I'll be corresponding more often.

Welcome aboard Rapsco. If there is a MM in mind that you would like to know about, submit the VIN number to me.

Rapsco,

I bought one less than a month ago... had to have Blue so a 300B was the choice for me.

In reading all the old posts you should be looking at now, I saw lots of discussion on "A" vs "B".

Personally, I wouldn't spend much time on that. Seems somebody here has figured out how to add all the "A" stuff to "B" cars... but is it worth the effort? You be the judge. (So sad that FoMoCo de-contents the cars though... great way to infuriate loyal owners).

I want to add the automatic parking brake release and I'll keep my eyes open for a fullsize spare, but I'd rather have traction control (I think Pittsburgh gets more snow than Texas) and heated seats (ditto) than the other goodies.

Marauders are an awesome value... lots of go, not too much dough. I'd say pick your color and make a deal... options were so limited that you don't need to get caught up in option packages & equipment... they're all about the same or easily changed.

Lastly, I think the market for Maruaders is very in-efficient... if you're patient you can pay whatever you want for a used one... so hurry up and take your time!

Greg

Welcome Billy Mac. Congrats on the Marauder!

I wonder if Rapsco34 ever bought one?
