Of original Marauder with a supercharger.this was at the 2002 Woodward Dream cruise and probably one of the first Panther line ups.It had a MFG. plate on it and I'm pretty sure it was a 4V even though the originals were to have 2V`s.There were three there but this was the only one with the hood up. http://www.mercurymarauder.net/showcase/files/2/4/0/fhuio.jpg http://www.mercurymarauder.net/showcase/files/2/4/0/asddth.jpg

Wow, some bozo in marketing prolly thought they'd never sell.

SCCHThe Marauder was originally was supposed to be supercharged and sell for $29,999.00 But Ford got greedy cut the supercharger out and upped the price. These were early test mules I beleve. The pictures are from August 2002 so the current Marauder was already on sale.(I think)

"The Marauder was originally was supposed to be supercharged "
Then they were supposed to come out with factory S/C cars for 2004,I held out buying waiting for the factory S/C and they folded on me and on all of us ultimately.

If this is what really happened, then it was a huge mistake for Fomoco. Who wouldn't throw down $30k for a 4-door Cobra with trunk space for your Aveo?

This is true, the test mule was a S/Ced 2V engine but cheapo ford went to the parts bin and decided on the 4V N/A motor.

Thanks Ford!, You are really in touch with what the public wants.:shake:

It wasnt ford, it was Elena ford, she said to babcock that "mercury was heading in a new direction" and she meant towards female drivers. She didnt want this taking up attention on the showroom floor.
