View Full Version : SSM Picnic - Swap Meet
I have a few things lying around that I don't need anymore. Not up to shipping, but I wouldn't mind bringing some with me to the picnic. For now, I'm listing the tires, but may post up more items later. Price is below or make me an offer with something not listed in my profile. Anyone else planning to bring parts?
(2) 295/45VR18 Hankook Ventus ST RH06 (http://www.hankooktireusa.com/product/tire_detail.asp?pid=169) - $150
*The tires have are at about half tread and were on the car for 6 months. I'll look up the number of miles if anyone is interested. Here are pictures of them on stock rims.

These are very tempting if you are bringing them. Did they rub at all while on the stock wheels?

None that I know of. I never heard noises, and the inside of the tires and the shocks showed no evidence of rubbing. The tire sidewalls are a bit squishy on stock rims, so not ideal for autocrossing, but they give you a great contact patch otherwise.

I don't autocross so that may help me out. What tire pressure did you have them set at?

I kept these tires at 36lbs. When I bought them, the installers inflated them to just over 40lbs, which was likely intended to keep the sidewall stiffer. At stock pressures, the had some squish, which helped launching. For daily or highway driving, you'd probably want them higher. Nice thing, as others have mentioned about these tires, is that they have excellent wear (and they wear evenly).
I have my stock manifolds, gaskets, catalytic converters, and rear 02 sensors. If anyone is in need of these parts, please make an offer. I know the worth of the converters and will scrap them myself otherwise.

I had those for a while up for sale and had a nibble here and there but no one serious, so when I moved I chucked them. That's when someone had a serious need for them, but they also wanted the OEM tips & mufflers, and I ain't partin with the tips.

$150 for the tires only. Unfortunately, the rims are not for sale. RoyLPita has dibs on the tires, but if for whatever reason he decides not to purchase them, you're next in line!

Thanks for the warning. Was hoping someone that would be attending the picnic had use for them. I guess I'll try the 'parts for sale' forum, and otherwise, I sell them for scrap.
I have two (never used) battery backup sirens that can be added to any existing alarm system. If someone cuts your horn or siren wire, the battery backup siren continues wailing and can only be shut off with a key. I bought these a few years back for my previous cars and never got around to installing them. The alarm I had installed on the Marauder came with one, so I don't have a use for them. I paid $30 each (equivalents go for $25-$35 on ebay) and will sell for $20 each (firm), plus no delivery since you can pick them up at the picnic.

Battery Backup Siren (Front)

For anyone interested, I'll be bringing some stuff (Images, Big and small) to sell off at the picnic to support the completion of my latest project .
Oh, and Mary, for all of your help in making this a possible, I'll have a present for ya. It's something I think I've heard you liked.;)
FYI, I started this thread for everyone's use! I'm hoping we can have a "swap meet" at the picnic, so if you have any MM items to sell or trade, post up here and plan to bring.

Ok, I'll bring them with me to the picnic and hold one for you. See you there!
Now I can't imagine why anyone would have an extra MMX or 4" T6 Marauder drive shaft laying around, but if you do and wouldn't mind parting with it, let me know.

They won't rub, but the SW is squishy cuz they are too big for the 8" rim. These should be mounted on widened rims.

DR has been selling these tires for stock rims and is using them on his car. Tire Kingdom mounted and balanced them without a problem, inflating them to a higher PSI in order to stiffen the sidewalls. I kept them at stock pressure, making them more squishy, which helped with launches.

I know. I've seen them and ridden in the car with them. I'm just sayin the specs call for a 9.5-11" rim.
Conventional wisdom is that a tire too narrow for the rim results in a twitchy hard ride with rail handling and a tire too wide for the rim results in a softer ride with reduced handling.

I provided the manufacturer link in my original post and already stated that the sidewalls are squishier on the stock rim. They are not autocrossing tires, but between the softer sidewall and increased contact patch, they make for good launches.
