View Full Version : About those Flags -- Just a Reminder

Some of the newer members (and even some not so new members) here may be wondering about those "Checkered Flags" flying under some MM.Net member screenname/avatars. Like ^^^^^. Those flags denote a contributing member.

New members accumulate "stars" with their avatar based on the number of posts. Those stars convert to flags when you become a contributing supporter for the site.

MM.Net relies on your donations and those of the vendor sponsors to keep the lights on in this place. Without your help .... the unthinkable could happen. I support MM.Net because I believe in the site ... in what it has become over the years ... and for the info sharing and comaraderie that makes this place tick.

Your donation gives you access to the "Members Only Forum", extra space in the photo gallery, ability to do multiple PMs, and some other stuff. But most of all .... it guarantees that the site is up and running when you need it.

Moreover, these contributions help to defray some of the costs and expenses for Marauder gatherings held throughout the year (e.g. Maraudervilles, SSHS7, Carlisle, etc.)

Donations are not mandatory. You can play anytime you wish. But if you want to get those contributing member flags -- a contribution would help.

Think about it and do what you can, if you can. Get yourself some flags.

There's a link on the Home Page to make it happen.

Thanks for listening.

You know, I've been thinking for a while about just how to say what Charlie said. You did a great job. Donations and the hard work of many not only keep this site alive and it's information accessible. Donations also fund gatherings, raffles, and other activities.

We are fortunate to have some very generous vendors who are into our cars along with us and really help us out.

I donated nearly as soon as I was registered. Reading the information on this site saved me thousands. Generous vendors have saved me more yet. Fellow members.. well, the car just wouldn't be where it is without them. Savings alone is worth the cost of admission.

Besides the financial return, think of the ability to connect with friends across the country. People you would never have had the privilege to know otherwise. That alone is worth the cost of admission.

So, think of a prize you've recently won, a discounted item you've purchased from a site vendor or just a plain 'ol hook-up from a member, a used part, a Marauder exclusive hobby item, advice that saved you a trip to the dealer, that free conversation with one of our experts (vendor or member), whatever. Think of that. Think of the money it saved you. If you donate even HALF of the savings, you're helping more than you know.

Last, but not least, buy from site vendors and participate in site raffles/drawings/collections, etc. It all comes around many many fold to you, the Marauder owner and REAL MM.net member.

Thank y'all for your support. It truly makes a difference and is greatly appreciated.

While PayPal donations are integrated into the website software, we certainly accept donations in the form of a check or money order. There is no set limit on the amount. A "Free Will Offering," if you will.

Please PM or email me at Marauder03@comcast.net if you would like more details about sending a check.

Um, they are. Oh, BTW, we accept Canadian dollars, in fact love 'em, because of the favorable exchange rate .....Pesos are OK too, only it takes more of 'em. :D
