Dennis,
First, irregardless of what others think, I want to say thanks for all of the offerings you have for not only the Marauder, but also for all of the Panther cars.
I was wondering your thoughts on superchargers for a 2003 Crown Vic. I like my CVPI as my daily driver, but really would love to have more power. And I am up in the air on what to do with the car. Being an '03, I figure a DOHC motor swap would be relatively straight forward, but that puts me basically at stock Marauder power levels which isn't a bad thing, but I want more. Especially since my Marauder is getting blown too - at some point.
Basically you have the aftercooled Vortech kit, correct? Any other supercharger offerings for the SOHC setup? Or would you recommend to start with the DOHC motor swap and then supercharge it?
I figure with 115,000 miles on the stock motor that I would need to look for at least a new short block. Thought maybe a mild DSS type forged short block with the Vortech supercharger. That way I can still use my PI heads and intake and add the blower. Otherwise trying to go with a forged shortblock DOHC would bump the budget up even further. So trying to figure out the most cost effecive way to add decent power to my daily driver CVPI.
Thoughts and input?

Paxton kit with air-air intercooler and keep the SOHC. Run it 'til it blows or wears out then put a forged bottom end in it and increase the boost.

That's a good idea too. Guessing with a good tune, good gas, and lower boost levels it could last awhile.
I didn't know Paxton had a kit (or that Dennis had put a Paxton kit together) for the CV SOHC setup. That would be cool.

I believe 2-Valves can handle boost VERY well......
Why add cost???
:dunno:

I have done about six of these cars, below is a 05 I did and this was a water to air kit, I would go air to air its less expensive and just as efficient, I will help any way I can, I would use my Novi Kit on the car, call me any time your ready and I will get started on it.
The next thing we did is change out the stock single track rear end and replace it with a posi track with 410 gears, while the car was in the air we removed the OEM control arms and replaced them with a set of PHP upper and lower control arms along with a new ADDCO rear control arm.

While the car was on the lift we also installed our new product made by
Pro guard this is an air deflector for the rear bumper and it keeps it from ballooning or filling with air at high speeds

Next we dropped the gas tank and replaced the OEM fuel pump with a high flow Focus fuel pump.

The car will get 14" KVR cross drilled rotors in the front with stainless steel brake lines and carbon fiber pads along with cross drilled rotors in the rear with stainless steel lines and carbon fiber pads I have ordered custom 18" wheels I will post them next week.

Dennis,
Thanks for the input. I do appreciate it. I already have ProGard on both the CVPI and my Marauder. I am familiar with the handling upgrades available as the Marauder has a complete Addco (front and rear) and Metco (control arms, Watts Link, and DS safety loop). So I know those are worth while upgrades. I like the looks of that Novi kit and like the fact that it routes on the driver's side like the stock setup instead of trying to route on the passenger side from a Mustang kit.
Also, I believe my '03 CVPI does have the posi already, if I remember correctly, but only 3.27 gears. What are your thoughts on the 4.10 vs. 3.73 gears in a CVPI due to the different rear tire height between the CVPI and Marauder. I love the 4.10 in my Marauder, but they say that is a little too much for the CVPI tire height.
What does that Novi kit run and is there anything extra needed (injectors, fuel pump, etc)? I do have an XCal2 already with tune that I am running in the CVPI so I assume that would need updated.

The Novi kit minus the Xcal 4500.00 it comes with injectors maf and fuel pump and the complet kit and its free shipping this month.

If you want a roots type, AED makes one. I didn't know Dennis did a lot of CV's as well.

A roots type would be nice, but last I heard the sale of AED did not go through and they are done. So it is centrifugal SC option only unless you did a DOHC swap and did a Trilogy. And that pretty much doubles the upgrade requirements.
This is the first I had seen Dennis' Paxton CV kit and it looks pretty good.

Seems to be running fine? Just wondering though, why would you want to S/C your CVPI, and not S/C your MM?

Just because the website is up doesn't mean they are selling. Check out half way down in this thread where it notes the buyer that Scott had fell through and he will not keep the company going.

Also, Chris at ADTR, who used to be a distributer for AED has said they are no longer making kits. I would love to see someone pick them up because I like the roots style kits on our big, heavy cars, but that doesn't like it will be available any more.

Hmm, that blows. I've always been a fan of the AED, looks like they'll be a collectible.

Dennis,
With the Novi air-to-air kit where does the intercooler get mounted at?
