Do you or would you VALET park your Marauder?
Myself, No

Oh hell no. I don't even trust the people I take my car to get it washed to drive it. The first time I went in there the kid got in and spun the tires taking off and spun the rear end around real quick to put it in line to get detailed. Last time I let them drive it.

I feel the same way, but how do you take a Lady to dinner, do you make her walk from the parking lot, or wait at the door while you park. To me neither is a good option. I guess it's who you care more for, she'll know.

We don't have valet's in Calgary. You would freeze to death waiting for your car.
As James Rockford said, Park on the street save yourself a dollar.
Personally, never. I'm still single, but my girl is gonna have to know that my car and I are a package deal.
And as for a car wash, I found one of the last places that let you put it in N and ride through to the end.

Sure...why not?
I used to have a 'valet' program on my flip chip.
The car wouldn't go over 35mph, and it was impossible to break then tire loose.
I no longer have this program, but would still valet the car if it was appropriate for the situation.
We normally take the Vator out on evenings requiring such situations.
Boring for the valet guy.

Personally I would never want to do it. If I had to I would pull the valet aside hand him a $10 bill and tell him: "dont ***** around with the car" and tell him that if he takes good care of it there is another $10 in it for him later. I would also mention that I measured the tread depth and would like to have the same amount when I come back.

Better make that $100, or your car is going to be trashed when you come back.

NO WAY.
Some friends were valets in HS and they would steal the high performance cars they were valet for a joy ride. They never got caught. Just like Ferris Bueler.
I had a client that offerd a valet service and the claims never stopped. Some were bogus, "my auto antennae no longer works".

That's such a funny question. I actually PAID a valet to let me park it so he "wouldn't get in trouble". But, I handed him keys to my Taurus when I walked out of the lot. No funny business when I am eating.

I,m not sure most valets recognize a Marauder, especially in the dark. Or, maybe because mine is silver, it doesn't stand out. Haven't had any problems ....that I know of. And there are some places that reguire valet parking...like alot of restaurants on Cape Cod.

Hell No!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I only had it done once because I had no choice. I went to a very exclusive facility on Chestnut Street in Down Town Philadelphia for a rather high class wedding and there was no parking. Very expensive wedding and all valet park. Must say the guy was careful. What was unexpected though was when I left and the valet pulled the car up for me, other attendees at the wedding just gawked at the Marauder. I'm not an ego kind of person but I have to say I felt so dawn cool words can't describe. It is a bad looking ride. Also, my mechanic is the only person who services my car. I won't even go to the dealer. He and his father before him have taken care of my father, me and now my sons for three generations and he is top shelf. Does a hell of a job and a really nice guy. And oh yes, never never never go to a car wash. Only I wash and wax the Marauder.

I don't ever see myself being in a situation where I would need a Valet to park. With two kids, two project cars, and a house there isn't much left over in the budget for a high class night out. Besides, my wife and I don't like anything nicer than an Applebee's or O'Charleys.

Never again, if I can help it (I might make an exception depending on the valet crew).
I never thought of this much until a few years back when, at a attended lot I had used for years, my car was returned to me with a dent in the hood. (like someone had stepped on it) Suddenly, and amazingly, no one spoke english anymore and the situation got ridiculous.....:shake:
No one drives my car. Screw the valet.

The late Richard Jeni said it best: "Valet is a french word meaning 'Drunken Teenager'!!"
I knew a clique of valets in college, and they had stories about smoking weed before work on more than one occasion. In my experience, someone driving baked is safer than someone driving drunk, but both are bad news, especially when it's not your car.

When you get back to your car after an expensive nite out and the engine is knocking or your tires have been smoked costing you money you will care.
It is not covered by insurance and I bet you won't get a penny out of the valet.

I worked security at a casino and we were always handling accidents by the valet department. I wouldn't let those guys so much as look at my car and would rather push my car around a lot by hand than let them drive it.

No one even drives my car out of the garage, my dad is a machanic so im lucky there. If the car needs tires i drive it on the rack or i go somewhere else. No car washes they are the worst thing for ur car and i do my 5 step meguiars detailing myself so no detail shops. This is with all my cars not just the MMs, well someone else can drive the focus to put it on the rack for tires. ;)

I had '96 Impala SS.
Went to a strip club and Valet parked.
My buddy and I each payed the $10 cover and went inside and sat at a table.
The place was overly bright. After a few minutes, I propped my foot up on a chair and kicked back. A bouncer came over and told me I couldn't put my foot in the chair. My friend and I looked at each other, shrugged our shoulders and walked out the door.
About that time, the SS came screaching back into the parking lot from the highway.

I had my 71 cuda with a 440, valet parked once at a club in NY. There was a line inside the first door to go through security. All I heard was my car start up rev a little and then die out. This happened about 3 times. Then I heard the wheels brake loose and screamed away from the front door. I was cool about it, and impressed what the car could do in someone Else's hands. When we went to leave I went to the valet and asked where my car was, so WE could go get it. I made sure he wasn't getting behind the wheel again.
And about the Marauder.......Not a chance!

I worked as a valet many years ago, and I do not recommend it. Last year I had no choice but to let workers take my car onto the Auto Train an I watched it till it got into the train and then kept my ears open.

I live about 5 miles from the Lorton Auto Train station. I would have come down and we could have 2 pairs of eyes watching. ;)
I was booked on the Auto Train to go to MV IV in November 2006 but something came up and we didn't make the trip. :o

You forgot to add the ending, I'm sure it was interesting.
No way I would use valet parking again. A few years ago I watched this dip***** back my now exwifes car up and right into the car next to it creasing the 1/4 panel. It took a while but the restaurant finally paid, and that was with a police report.

No Way for the MM! For my 95 GM Daily, Wifes car or rental cars... glad to let em at it. It saves time and keeps us dry (Seattle ya know). If a special night just run the GM through the car wash and no worries!:)

I had the Marauder valet parked once when my girlfriend and I went to an Indian Casino. Took them about 20 minutes to retrieve it. I wasn't very happy about that especially after the viscious financial beating I took inside the casino.
After reading this thread I'm not letting it get valet parked again.
