So I found this article: http://www6.autonet.ca/Spotlight/UsedModels/story.cfm?story=/Spotlight/UsedModels/2002/05/10/530303.html
The first 2003 Mercury Marauder rolled off the line at the Ford Motor Co. St. Thomas Ont. plant this week, which means one thing: an old muscle car-favourite is back.
"The 2003 Marauder is designed to elicit the same excitement that surrounded Marauder of the early '60s," Alain Batty, Ford of Canada's president and CEO, said when the car made its Canadian premiere at the 2002 Canadian International Auto Show in February 2002. "Marauder is a rebel, with a cause - it’s an executive hot rod for customers who remember what it was like to drive cars that made you feel like you owned the road," Batty continued.
The Marauder will return in the form of a four-door, five-passenger performance sedan powered by a V-8 engine that will produce 302 horsepower. Based on a concept vehicle shown at the 1998 Specialty Equipment Market Association (SEMA) show, the production Marauder will have impressive performance credentials:
All-aluminum 4.6-litre dual overhead cam V-8 engine producing 302 horsepower and 310 foot-pounds of torque, with true dual exhaust and 3.5 inch Megs polished stainless steel tips
Four-speed automatic transmission with a high stall speed torque converter and 3.55 rear axle with limited-slip differential
Performance suspension; 18-inch forged aluminum alloy wheels shod with high performance all-season tires (P235/50ZR18 front and P245/55ZR18 rear)
225-kph (140-mph) speedometer, 7,000-rpm tachometer, temperature and oil pressure gauges and voltmeter
Leather-trimmed cabin; five passenger seating with "Marauder" embroidered in the floor mats centre console with floor mounted shifter.
Monochromatic exterior design with body surfaces finished in gloss black paint; dark-tinted headlamp and tail lamp bezels; "Marauder" embossed in the rear fascia and Cibie 80 mm 55-watt high output fog lamps integrated into the front fascia. The St. Thomas plant will first manufacture about 18,000 Marauders that will be shipped to the United States and sold this summer 2002.
Marauder will be sold in Canada in fall with up to 550 available in the 2003 model year. Pricing is expected to fall below $50,000, Ford said.
"The Marauder will be part of the household fleet, so power is not the customer’s only concern. It must have functionality to accommodate everyday needs," Brian Tafler, Marauder brand manager, said in a statement. "Marauder is a rebel with a cause. It is power and substance."
"Most Marauder customers will be well-educated and relatively affluent. Many will be married with children at home, and most will probably own two or more vehicles," he added.
But underneath all the domesticity, it's a good bet there'll be a little speed demon lurking around somewhere.
Is it true that there are only 550 Canadian market 2003 MY Marauders?
and another 125 2004's?
Anybody have any other numbers for colours etc...
I have been told by someone on here that there are only 13 DTR's In Canada.
Hence my flag.
Anyone know how many Blue or Silver Marauders there are, in Canada? If any.
