Just passing this along....
I Installed this in the BLUE yesterday and I am still beside myself over it

This kit is so well thought out and EASY to install, its almost Stupid NOT to put it on.

The instructions are absolutely incredible and detailed to no end.

After following their instructions on burping the system, I had no issues at all. That is definitely a first for me :coolman:

Thanks again Dennis Reinhart! I ordered the kit from him and it was on my doorstep 2 days later :burnout:

It can't be that great, or else I would have gotten a "get your ass over here with BLUE " call.

Im the test mule :D

When the blower goes on your BLUE, you should get this too!

Is this an option over the rear head cooling mod or roughly the same mod?

Same thing, different location.
Trilogy kits need a little extra time and work put in to make this work up top.

They put one on my new motor. Have not got the car back yet so no report on it.

Is this easier to put on then the rear head cooling mod?

Is this the one you spoke of last fall when you had my dead car?

If so, please put me on the list for when I bring it back in the spring for the blower.;)

Oh god yes. The upper and lower intake need to be removed for this one.
A little trimming of the corner of the intake and thats the hardest part of the job. 2-3 hours to do.

I was prototyping a kit almost identical to this, but Even Flow beat me to it.
Ill add it to the list of things to do

Can this mod be used in conjunction with the rear head cooling mod if it's already on or is basically doing the same exact thing?

After some driving, Ive noticed some interesting things.
First let me tell you I swapped to a 180 stat. (It came off my other car used, but still good)

Before the stat and cooling mod, avg engine temp was between 190-197.

NOW, when im driving, the temps average 167-179, no joke.

I really think the computer sensor is bad because the dash gauge stays at the 20mph mark after a normal warm up time.
I remember having a 170 stat in another car and the gauge never reached 20mph, more like 16mph. If I sat and idled, it would go to 20mph as soon as the engine temp reached 175-180.

Thoughts?

What he asked! I got the rear engine cooling mod done on mine last year when the PI 3000 and tranny rebuild was done. My guy fabbed a nice workaround to the EGR tube so he didn't have to bend it. I'm sure Dennis could have done it way faster, but he did a good job.

So is this in addition to the older mod or instead of? And what does it cost? IIRC I paid $175 for the RECM + shipping + an hour or two of install work. Worth it though for the peace of mind.

(Never fails, they always come up with something cheaper, faster and better! I should be thankful as compared to some guys back when this site got started I got off easy...!)

Tnx.

If you already have a cooling mod, this one will do you no good!

Glad you like the cooling mod. We have never had a 4.6 DOHC overheat on us (airbound)after the head cooling mod if the directions were followed on the bleeding procedure. If you have ever struggled with getting the air out of these cooling systems, you wouldn't believe how easy our head cooling mod makes it because you just gave all the system air a place to escape from while filling up with coolant.

Zack,
I have the prototype even flow cooling mod on my car, I noticed very little difference on the factory gauge (point to about the 20 mph when warmed up). However my AeroForce scan gauge actually read a slight bit higher than it did prior to the mod,. about 4-6 degrees normally. I was thinking that was due to better circulation of the hotter water from the back of the heads... But I don't claim to be a mechanic so who knows... Anyway that was my finding after installing the even flow (install with the trans in) rear head cooling mod - BTW I am running a 180 degree t-stat...
Have a great day!

the factory gauge stays pointed to the same spot up to 224 degrees.

Thanks for sharing your results
