I think my car came from there :) Or it got serviced there :lol:Possibly serviced, but not purchased...it was only a Ford dealer. I can't recall if it was Lighthouse or the former company that did warranty work on the axle and steering wheel for us. Don't recall the word on the street other than they cleaned house when they took it over a couple of years ago. Guess it wasn't well managed.

Lighthouse Ford closes its doors

Falmouth - The national slump in the economy is having its effect locally as the Lighthouse Ford car dealership has closed.

Mark Morse, the general manager of Lighthouse Ford, said the economic downturn is causing Ford to consolidate its dealerships.

“It’s a small market,” said Morse, listing several other dealerships competing for business on Cape Cod. “There’s only so much out there.”

There are Ford dealerships in Hyannis and Chatham as well as in Wareham and Plymouth.

Morse said it’s too early to say what the future of the Dillingham Avenue site will be but that such a decision rests with the Ford Motor Company. Locally, he said, the focus has been on the 25 employees of Lighthouse Ford.

“These are good, hard-working people,” said Morse, “real salt-of-the-earth.”

Formerly Falmouth Ford, Lighthouse Ford began operations about three years ago.

Despite the bad news, Morse expressed thanks to both the Falmouth community in general and Lighthouse Ford customers in particular.

“There’s been a lot of support out there over the years,” Morse said.

What's this? A business closing?
Impossible!
That's such a rare occurrence in the U S of A.
Wow.... what could possibly be the reason?
