Is anyone else's rear view mirror so tough to move that it won't stay stuck on?

Doorknob - I don't quite understand your question. Did the mirror come off the windshield? P.S my mirror is easy to adjust.

Well, the mirror is supposed to move when you try to adjust it, but the mirror is very hard to adjust, making it come loose after a few weeks. It's like there is a screw that needs to be loosened.

Doesn't sound right... These mirrors are supposed to be a 'break-away' design (for impact reasons) so you shouldn't have to force it to adjust it, otherwise you risk using the 'break-away' functionality prematurely. ;)
From what I can tell, it's a basic ball-and-socket affair, there's no mention of adjustability of tightness in the manual nor did I notice a screw of some sort.
Warranty...

Dealer already replaced mine once... stupid thing vibrates every time you hit a bump...
The new one ain't much better - I figure it will only last a couple months or so....
Do to the better half dropping me at work and then picking me up for the ride home - I have to adjust mine at least twice a day...
Oh yeah, you have to have a special tool to remove the dumb thing from the clip on the windshield
Got one from the Snap On guy for $20 - so I could tint the windshield..

I don't know what it is about rear view mirrors on our cars, but recently the mirror just fell right off of the windshield in my Regal! I just put it back on so hopefully it will stay for at least a couple of days.

I don't recall if the system used on recent GM cars is the same as that on my GTA, but if it is, make sure you use GM's adhesive or one of equivalent quality.
For 4-5 years, my GTA would drop the rearview mirror right onto my wrist once every spring within weeks of coming out of storage (I think the cold did a number on the cheap glue I kept using). Finally broke down and bought the GM stuff... hasn't dropped in about 3 years, knock on e-wood.

The windshield on the Regal has been replaced already, and the windshield installer just used a glue that couldn't hold up to it being 115 degrees outside and the car sitting in direct sunlight.
