After much reading on this excellent forum I have been trying to decide what changes if any I would like to make to the MM. I had the car now long enough to know that everything about the car pleases me except what it feels like on take off. I know that there are many mods. that will address this issue, however of all the mods. the one that I feel is the least intrusive and therefore appeals to me the most: is the chip. My question to those owners that have installed the chip and only the chip. What were your results ? Please be as descriptive as possible without exageration. My thanks to Logan for posting the dyno results of the chip. What I'm looking for, is there a difference that can be felt on take off ? Is it significant or subtle ? If I drove a car with chip and not be told, would I notice ? Thanks in advance your input is greatly appreciated !!!

I can answer that question too. Chip delivers 20hp and 30ft lbs in hot weather, more in cold. The power as you can see by the dyno chart is much improved in the bottom end, especially in torque.

In short, it's immediately apparent you're driving a chipped vehicle, because the have alot more low end grunt. The difference is quite significant. Gears and other mods obviously make an even bigger impression when combined with the chip.

Ok- I dont even have the car yet- And I've listened while some have spoke of a break-in period, I guess to loosen it up- but I am interested in installing a chip as mentioned above immediately-Should I wait a bit- I'm from the oldschool and making mods to these new cars is a bit chinese to me- Any suggestions?

Logan, thank you for the prompt response. The chip probably will be my Christmas present. :) :) :)

I had my chip in at around 250 miles... Hasn't been out since. Of course, some will adovocate breaking your car in to around 3000 miles before modding it, but I rarely own a car long enough to care about whether it's still running when the warranty is up... :)
