255/55/18s On Front?

Anyone running this tire on the front of their Marauder? I am currently running 245/55/18s on all 4 corners and would like to keep the same size all the way around, but am really unwilling to go to a narrower tire.

245/55/18 is 28.6" tall
255/55/18 is 29" tall
OEM front 235/50/18 is 27.3" tall

Car is 300A so T/C is not an issue.

That will be my next size all the way around. Right now I'm running the 235/50's all round. I know there was at least one other person here running that same size all around.

I believe prchrman has 255/55-18s all the way around.

Why the same size all around?

The wider rear tires are to give the muscle car stance and for best handling.

I am currantly using some Riken Rapters 255-45-zr18's all the way around and am having no problems. By the way I love these tires. they have a tread depth of 300 and a double AA traction rating. They hook up awesome wet and dry and using Car Fixers alignment specs they are wearing really well I have not had the shimmy, vibration problems of the BFGoodjunks. I would put these up against some more really expensive tires anyday:eek: (flame away). If there is one thing I would change, I would like to go with a taller and wider tire in the rear to take up some of the dead air space.

Sorry to burst your bubble, but the Rikens are made by the same exact company as the BFGs, Michelin Tire Corp. They are even designed by the same people. The Rikens are an old off-shoot of BFG. But I loved the KDW2s and they were very great in the wear department. The only people that I have seen have big problems with the KDW2s were those that had not done the car fixer yet. And I would bet dollars to pennies that the people that had vibe problems either had a poorly balanced set of tires or were "chopped out" from the misalignment!

Ive got 255/45 up front and 295/45 in the rear...I guess 50s and 55s would work...

Since you're asking for opinions - don't do it, it will not look good. 255/55/18 is WAY to big for the front to look good.
