I was thinking about going with the aeroforce NEXUS gauges. Anyone here have them?

I have the autometer ultralite II's, they match the stock appearance during the day but have LED backlighting at night.

I know it does but i would also like to have a REAL working oil pressure gauge. I dont need one for the volts I have a pioneer Z2 that gives me an accurate reading for that.

Are you referring to the ultralight 2's?

UL2's are AutoMeter gauges.

I think you mean the AutoMeter Nexus gauges. I am planning on going with them, too. The only person I know who has them is John (TooManyFords), but don't know if he has any pictures of them on here any more.

I am doing the Volt, Oil Pressure, and Tranny Temp gauges where the stock ones go (and the cigarette lighter). If you get the Volt gauge you have to get the 6401 controller. If you don't replace that you can go with the 6400 controller, but can't update the Volt gauge later as it doesn't work with the 6400 controller.

The Aeroforce is a good option too, but a little small for my liking. Nice thing with those is you can display 2 parameters per gauge and they plug directly in to the OBDII port for readings and power (except for the Oil Pressure).

If you want stock look the ultralite or utralite II's from Autometer will keep a stock appearance.

If you don't mind or don't want stock appearance then there are plenty of other choices, like the aeroforce ones mentioned above.

If you want accuracy well Autometer is in question. My ultralite II boost gauge reads differently than the ultralite 1 from Trilogy. I heard the oil pressure senders aren't very reliable either, luckily mine is still OK.

So yeah stock apperance go Autometer otherwise it sounds like there's better equipment to choose from.

It's the same deal with Autometer. You need a sender...

oil press.sending unit will be needed for and gauge to make it accurate unless you run a hi press.line into car ......

but that could get ugly if it blows expecialy in the car messssssssssssssy

I agree with the Auto Meter but I think the NV line would work best with the color set up of the stock gauges. I plan on doing the NV line gauges with Electronic hook ups so there is no worries about mechanical mishaps on the inside of the car...

Is the Aeroforce setup the one that will allow you to run 2 of them so that you can have one in each slot where the stock ones are? And are they the same size to fit the stock holes?

If so, did they ever get all the bugs worked out so you can run the pair? And if I want to run oil pressure and tranny temp the only thing you need to add is the pressure sender for the oil pressure, correct?

Yes, I have the complete set now. Speedo, Tach, all of them. I only have the Boost, Wideband, Fuel Pressure, Oil Pressure, Nitrous and Tranny temp hooked up right now. The tach, speedo, volts, water temp, fuel gauge, and fuel pressure will be mounted where the factory cluster goes. The remaining gauges will be the wideband and nitrous pressure on the post and the boost and tranny temp ub tge center console.

You'll just have to wait till I get the car back from tuning before I can show it off. If anyone is interested, I have the original Nexus control box (6400) for sale since upgrading to the 6401.

Thats what im talkin bout. Very nice setup, still looks factory.Thanks. The gauges were relatively easy to install and I didn't lose the cigarette lighter (it's on the right side). When I need more gauges, I'm hoping to create a custom cluster where the '03 300a's have their clock, pending depth issues. If that fails, they'll go on the steering column.

Start looking for a steering column set up. I seem to remember a F150 top half fits. Wes knows. There's no depth on that panel unless you cut the sub plastic. Also, that matrix piece is designed to blow loose on airbag deployment so, you really shouldn't anchor it down in any way or add mass to it, IMO.

On that note, I suppose I'll be using the steering column setup when the time comes.

I originally thought Zack's Scangauge install in that spot unwise, however, it has not much if any more mass than the clock, so should still be safe as long as the cable isn't tied down hard.

Safety first....

Unfortunately, I've seen how that strip works first hand....

I read this on Wes' site:

Note: THe Gauge itself still has backlighting, but the numbers will not be back lit after the swap, but it is possible to swap the face of the stock gauge over to the functioning one. Check out Mercurymarauder.net for more details about this conversion!

Is there a tutorial on here about installing the OEM faces on the Autometer Ultralite II's?

Thanks.

I took pics tonight and will post them tomorrow...sorry I have to go to AZ early in the AM! They look great and I took enough pics for a brief install tutorial on install. BTW if you are considering gauges...definitely go for the Aeroforce...they are so perfect its almost sickening!

I know that they are expensive compared to the others out there, but to have an OEM replacement that looks totally at home in my car...PRICELESS!

But I actually comtrmplated both pretty hard before buying
