NMRA Spring Break Shootout Mar 8-9

I will be going to the NMRA Spring Break Shootout on March 8-9. Would love to see some more Marauders attend and maybe race. I have been invited by NMRA to race in the True Street competition by NMRA and MMFF Magazine.

Come on over. This is huge event, 6 second Mustangs, tons of people there, vendor/swap alley and overall a great event. I attend every year. I wasn't planning on racing and was just going to put the car in the car show. But I have been talked into racing. Would love to have some support plus have a strong showing of the SSM Marauder Race Team there......:beer:

The True Street Event has trophies for times from 9-10-11-12-13-14-15 seconds for the best average of three runs after a 30 mile drive. So any of you have a chance. Come represent. I will arrange for us all to be together at the track. So come on guys, who is going to show up??????

Plenty of places you can run. I am running True Street. They have trophies for best average of three runs from 10-11-12-13-14-15 ET's for first place and runner up. Cars leave for a 30 mile drive and have to be completely street legal.

Gates open at 9 Am. If you race True Street there is a meeting at 11 Am. 30 Mile road trip starts at noon, racing begins at 130 PM. Dry and mid 60's:banana2:...I smell horsepower.....

Well the fastest car was in the 7 second rage.....The Jetcar is waaaaaaaaay too loud......Tom's MM again, was trying to over Race the track, it likes to use both lanes.

Well overall we had a great weekend. Cool temps but real windy on Saturday. Sunday a gorgeous day, nice & cool and the wind dropped off to a light breeze.

My first run started off blistering. A 1.610 sixty foot on my NITTO DR's! I felt I would have beaten my 10.9 ET record easily the way the car launched. Then, around the 330 foot mark I hit something on the track. Thought it was fluids, but turned out to be debris. Went a bit sideways and went into the other lane, knocked a cone down. Got out of it completely, recovered and drove down the track with a 14.0 et @ 84 mph. Man was I pissed......I was running True Street three back-to-back hot lapped runs after a 30 mile drive.

Second run another 1.673 sixty foot, 10.902 et @ 128 MPH. My opinion of the Nitto's Drag Radials has changed. They worked better than the Hoosier Slicks I used. Shows the suspension is working and all I needed was the 100 shot Nitrous to assist in launching the car. Third run, with a short two minute stop was a 1.722 sixty foot, 11.3 @ 127 mph.

The great part of the weekend was my son (in-law) Justin with his Marauder Procharger powered 94 Lincoln MK VIII made the 11 second club with a 11.9 et run and most important won the True Street Event (12 second catagory) with three runs of 11.9, 12.0 & 12.1 with a 12.038 average. He was so proud and I was proud of him. He is like my own son and he and I have worked together on our cars from the beginning.

Ed and Greg were at the track on Saturday and it was great to see them. Thanks for the support guys. Overall a great day.

The Lincoln and the other black Marauder were flat out flying. Awesome!!

Thanks Jay. The other black Marauder that was there ran an 11.3 et. He is not on the board. He and I talked quite a bit. He is running an 03 Cobra engine with a Whipple blower pushing 20 lbs of boost. Told him to get on over here. Another kick azz fast SC's Marauder here in Florida. Before I left for the day, he said is was hearing funny things in his engine and did not sound good:eek:. Was not very happy. Gave him a few telephone numbers to help him out.

I saw that GT 500 run. Car hauls.
