Well, This man called from Ohio, His name was Josh he works at a Ford Dealership and said he had heard of me from this site and Vortech, and asked me if I get could get him 450 RWHP out of a stock built 02 GT, but he could not bring the car here to Jacksonville Florida.

So of course I lied, We got him 467 RWHP on 93 Octane. First I contacted my friends in Brownston Michigan, Dave Roy and Brad Bockstanz. The shop is "Dyno Dave's. I asked them if they would do the install, and since Dave has the dyno there so we were home free on dialing it in when the install was done. David does all kinds of High performance builds and upgrades, he currently is doing a blown Marauder.

First of all I shipped him my kit, which he chose a polished S. Trim 42 pound injectors, 90 MM Lighting Maf, Anderson Ford Power pipe, external air charge sensor and wiring harness, since the 02 GT's is built into the stock Maff, and the upgraded pump. So with this much power I chose the Vortech after cooler and it was also polished. We then sent a complete Bullitt intake.

We also sent BBK LTH and I decided on upgrading the fuel system with my setup with the up graded Cobra gas tank and dual pumps. David and Brad jumped right on it and worked there magic, and Dave has a friend who makes a Big mouth Throttle body and added that.

Of course none of this is worth any thing without the correct tuning, well in four pulls he was dialed in at 467 RWHP.

The end result speaks for itself. This is what true team work does, Thanks David and Brad, for making this happen for Josh. Any one in the area give David a call he is a top installer/performance shop, who offer the same great tuning as my self and Ford Chips.com

One word: wow!
Ok, two words: Wow! and Jealous!

Can you give us any indication about how much this all cost with parts and installation?

Well they are friends of mine we share the same tuning, David is doing a Marauder now with a Vortech and air to air cooler with about 13 PSI and it should push that Marauder to over 400 at the wheels, on the GT the kit I sell is 3800 inner cooler another 1400 intake 1200 gas tank and pump 700 Throttle body 300 headers 300 and about 1200 labor

The GT is a 2V motor correct, what difference would you expect from a 4V?

All GT's have the SOHC motor and if you look at the post above you can see what can be done conservatively with the Marauder

Dennis,
I guess my question was about the 13psi... that seems pretty high. Vortech says that there SQ-Strim with aftercooler is about 7-9psi, what happens when you raise boost that much?

Also, what suspension mods is Dave doing on the marauder?

I am always looking for alternatives!

You may not get 13 PSI but its very possible with a good cooler, I have not talked to Dave about the suspention mods but I will

So... If I added correctly, it took about $8600. to get that GT to 467hp? Can I deduce that it would take about the same to get the Marauder to over 400hp? And Dennis, can you make this happen in Southern California? And really stupid question...will it pass smog tests in California?

I feel I can get a Marauder over 400 RWHP again if some one brings me a car I will do it at cost which will be far less than the Mustang

With 467 hp, did he mod the tranny and rear end?

Anyone considered stroking and using forged internals...

Things start to break if you don't know what you're doing. Personally, I would not go over 8 psi without an aftercooler. Detonation occurs too easily without one. Also, an aftercooler can reduce boost pressure about 1 to 3 psi depending on the type of aftercooler. So, the blower pulley needs to be changed to compensate for it.

I have a 99 Cobra with the 4V and installed a Paxton Novi 1000 kit (about 8 psi of boost) on a stock motor. The kit came with 42 lb injectors, Lightning MAF (judging from the Ford Part No. on it), new 255 lph fuel pump, and other stuff. I also have a Dr. Gas off road (no cats) X-pipe and Borla cat back exhaust. Otherwise, the engine is stock (stock throttle body, stock intake, stock headers, etc.) It has been dyno tuned at 469 rwhp. Here's what I spent:

Paxton S/C kit ~$3200 to my door through a group purchase (normally ~$4000. I installed it myself. I had quotes of about $1200 to install it.
Dr. Gas X ~$400 Includes $50 to have it welded. I installed it myself.
Borla catback ~$375 using $100 off coupon at carparts.com (They tried to rip me off  ) I installed it myself.
New chip ~$350. The Paxton kit comes with a chip. Paxton wouldn't give me a chip for my X-pipe. So, I had to get another one.
Dyno tune $300 ($150 per hour).
Steeda pump ~$400 The 03 Cobra pump wasn't available at the time. If I was doing it over again, I'd get it instead.
Boost-a-pump maybe $300. It increases voltage to the pump to increase fuel pressure. I haven't paid for it yet so I don't remember how much it is. This probably will not be necessary with an 03 Cobra pump.

Total = $5325 This is the first time I added it up. I wish I didn't.
:)

I don't know how much more hp I would get with an aftercooler, 13 psi boost, and headers (probably need a new fuel pump too). I am guessing another 100 hp. Dennis, you have any idea?
