Dark Toreador Red

Saw a 2004 Grand Marquis in DTR today.... looks like a blood red color..... not bad. I have to say that I think the red used on the Impala SS in 1996 is a better shade. Will have to wait and see how the MM looks in this new color.......

looking to get a 2004 in red, then i change out my full size polished spare, 6 cd changer & speakers and trunk organizer among other items that they probably deleated.

I have only seen the '95 Impala SS in what they passed for "red" was the '96 red different?

The '95 Impala SS in Dark Cherry Red or whatever it was called looked more Brown-Red to me. Not my favourite.

If someone gets a DTR MM first I'd like to see the pictures. I've got about another 6-7 week wait for mine. As soon as I can step outside of it I'll take some snaps and post them here!

Agent M79 might be our very first DTR MM owner on this site, we'll have to just wait and see if thats so.
6-7 week wait should go by pretty quickly, hopefully.

H E Y !!! It just hit me!!!! Our Carolina group (members)will have all four colors when Agent M79 gets his Red MM...WOW!!!

Thats dok with the Silver, mrmark with the Blue, Agent M79 with the Red and the rest with our Blacks....Oh Yeah!!! I can see the pics at our October meeting--Can't wait--

Guys, Guys, Guys (and now I guess ladies also?)

I know it is trivial...but the DARK CHERRY (RED?) on the SS wasn't that bad. It was offered as a second choice of color for the second year of production in 95 and continued thru 96. 96 they offered the grey green as a third choice of color . Now hope they don't offer the Marauder in that color. (hope I don't get flamed by my own SS compadres) :help:

Curious as to what I could Photoshop together based on that Mercury link for the DTR color, I produced the following little guess at what it might look like.

I really had trouble keeping the metallic aspect of the silver car I based the pic on. To my 1 am eyes, it looks sort of close to what was on the Mercury site.

We just returned home from seeing a red 2004 Marauder. Took several pictures of this red 2004 MM but don't know how to put them on this posting. It is a pretty color and changed our minds from getting an 2003 black to getting this 2004 red, even with some of the discontinued items. There is still a trunk light and inside trunk release, which we had read was discontinued. The no speaker grills in the back, actually look better. It has a new shorter overhead console which would not interfere with adding a moonroof. The grill is red matching the color of the MM. It is hard to really explain the red color, somewhere in between a maroon and red with no metalic coating. Will be happy to post a picture if someone will tell us how to do it.
