View Full Version : When is the next FordChips dynotune?
Howdy All,
The FordChips page says Austin, TX -- TBA.
Anyone know when the next chip tune will be held in Texas?
I may be able to wait for the MM meet in September, but every day is hell when one is forced to live with the factory shift settings ;>)
I put my Bob White bumper letters and rear door window decals on today- sweet!

Kevin,
Call Dennis Reinhart...order a chip from him...fix your shift-points and enjoy your car more...if the FordChip boys come to TX...you get to do the tune/re-flash for a huge discount. Why? Because you already have a chip that is from them (the best Marauder tuners in the biz) via Dennis.
Do it and enjoy your car.
Why not set up a dyno tune in Ennis?
Howdy,
Do I really need a mod chip from Dennis if I can get my EEC reprogrammed on the dyno? Is the Idea to have a specific program in the chip that I can pull when the car goes to the dealer, or is there an advantage to the add-on chip?
Kevin
I personally feel the chip is the best way to go. I know what folks may say, but...if you flash the PCM...the dealer can detect it.
Bottom line, if you have a problem with the car...you want it fixed, right? If you keep all the programming on a chip, and if there is a problem...you pull the chip and have them do the diagnostics on your stock PCM. If they find nothing, then you might have a chip problem. Either way, you're on your way to a fix.
If you are worried about the dealer...by an extra PCM and swap those out.

Here is a Email I sent to FordChips;
"Any idea when you may be in Texas? I see you have Austin down as a TBA. How about
a dyno tune in Dallas? If not yet this year how about the first part of next year."
Total Answer
"No date as of yet...."

Now the question is, if you replace your stock PCM with a modified
one, drive it, put the original stock one back in, can that be detected in a "warranty voiding situation"
That, is the question.

Around $200.00 and some change, but don't forget about the $100.00 core deposit that you'll never see again....
