Raise it all the way up and use the old tape measure to see the difference...most of the seats really sag badly and me at 6'5" has to raise it up some, but all the way back and the recline mode too.

I'm heavy, and 5'10" I have it all the way down 3/4 back, and reclined 3/4, with the pedals back 1/2, I don't like to be on top of the steering wheel. This is very comfortable for me, and I can't imagine being 6'5" in there.

I am 6'7" and there are pins at the back of the seat track which will give you @1 inch more of leg room when removed. It may not seem like much, but any more room is better. The arm rests are at an awkward position for taller owners, but that is ok with me

Check underneath your seat with a flashlight and make sure nothin ahs rolled underneath. It does not sound like your seat is going all the way down. Or else you have it tilted forward.
