Get more things for us to do. The tracks are opening soon! The car shows will be going on. Its time to start posting dates so we can plan to attend them. Greek God you need to get in here as you know when the Grand Rapids events go on. When is the Betten Ford Mustang show. That was fun last year.

Link to the August 22 & 23, 2008 4th annual 28th Street Metro CruiseŽ Website:

http://www.28thstreetmetrocruise.com/v4/go.gnf?s=metrocruise (http://www.28thstreetmetrocruise.com/v4/go.gnf?s=metrocruise)

28th Street is the former main South belt (East-West) State hiway/commercial corridor. Traffic lights are generally every 1/4 to 1/2 mile apart...

I have never been to Detroit's "Cruise", but suspect it is a mad-house. Our "Cruise" is probably much less hectic but grows every year (from the website):

"We expected as many as 10,000 cars and up to 200,000 visitors and spectators at the 2007, 2-day event, but early reports indicate that we had over 230,000 visitors and 13,000-15,000 special interest cars!"

I have safe off street parking & storage available, but there is plenty of space available along 28th street, also. If their is interest, we could gather at one of my two estates for a Bar-B-Que.

The Lane show is a real good one. I might be able to set it up so we could all be together at that one. Pipe up guys as to what you want to do!

The Lane auto show and Cruise Night May 23-24 is a very nice & varied show. Not just "show cars", but real race cars, too. The midway has many big name vendors (Holley, etc.). Wouldn't be a particularly good place to meet, but worthy to visit.

:bows: I forgot John is "connected" at Lane :bows: (the West Michigan Mob, with Chicago Mob connections) ;) . It would be :cool4: :coolman: to have a row of MM's & Panthers there!

Oh Oh, dead man walking?

There is no such thing as The Mob, or La Cosa Nostra, or The Black Hand. My grandmother was from Italy, so I would know. ;)

I'm in for just about any of these. I've never been to the 28th St. show and would like to go. We need a good spot reserved where we can all meet and park.

The old Duthler Ford site/lot @ 550 28th Street S.E., is 1/4 mile from my house. It is now a used car lot (& repair/rehab center) for Mel Trotter Ministries, and also has a Hertz car rental in the old used car office.

The lot is large, and very popular, being in the approximate center of the 15 mile long street. If not front row available, there are usually spaces open behind the front row.
