ok I have a 03 mercury marauder... black as u all know the motor locked up and is getting replaced right now.... but the mods that were on the car were ford racing underdrive pulleys which are coming off and putting stock back on, kooks headers, x-pipe, high flow cats, and stock tips welded back on i still have not had time to see if it has a chip or not it broke down before i even looked... but it sounds really really really good kinda like a cobra just doesnt have the bubble machine sound to it... what are some other mods or things i can do to it... and is the tranny in the 03's any good?

4.10s in the rear? As for the tranny, it's the same one moving police cruisers in LA and taxis in NY. Look up the J-mod for further bulletproofing.

Tranny's are fine in these cars until you get to some serious power. 4.10's, CAI (if it didn't have one.)

Yep, cars quicker and gives a great sound. Not sure about the intake spacers though, some say yay, others say nay.

Real UD's, EMP Stewart water pump, JLT CAI, 180 stat, NGK-TR6 plugs, tune from Reinhart.
Next round
4.10's, shaft, loop, tune update

Are you keeping the Kook's headers or selling them?

CAI, mufflers plus tune to take full advantage of the better moving air really perks a Marauder up.

Rich, he has 4.10's already in the car he said. Yea, the K&N or the JLT.

Then he should check his or get a new shaft before he walks out the tail-shaft bushing.

yup keeping the kooks headers, that was the first thing i said to the dealer that is putting the new motor in was to make sure that they put the old headers from the old motor onto the new one...

Were they not the ones the killed oil pumps -- or do I have them confused?

Me too. I got my steedas as hand-me downs - I gave them away when I got the blower and they are still going strong for the new owner!!!!

Rich I think they were BBK's. Although, I haven't heard of many people using the FRPP ones...

Rich I think they were BBK's. I thought so, too. Dennis stopped selling the 2-piece ones as soon as this problem surfaced. I wasn't sure whether the FRPP ones were also problematic.
