Bummer: Intercooler pump shot
<HR style="COLOR: #ccffff" SIZE=1><!-- / icon and title --><!-- message -->Well, I was planning on flushing the intercooler and engine coolant sometime soon. Now that the Trilogy intercooler pump is no longer "pumping", this project just might happen a little sooner rather than later.
Correct me if I am wrong here. The car can still be driven with the pump not working, but performance will be down, correct? I will not hurt anything driving her like this?? Right!?!
Are there any words of wisdom re: the swap out. I realize that getting the air out of the intercooler is not as difficult as getting the air out of the engine coolant system. This can be tricky, and if not done right can blow the head gaskets.
Again, any little "tricks" are gladly accepted. Thanks......http://www.motorcitymarauders.com/forums/images/smilies/toast.gif

Do Not drive your car! If you get into boost it will damage the motor.
Even if you are not in boost the S/C may generate enough heat to damage the motor.
This is how T1 blew their motor.

OK, here is a follow up. The pump makes noise, just not the right noise. Tapping with the back of a screw-driver can slightly change the pitch, but still no coolant circulation. I am feeling that......
1. this is NOT a connection issue. If the connection was bad, it would not run at all.
I feel a new pump is in order. If my records are correct the part number is.

On a side note, I noticed a few drops of power steering fluid on the garage floor as well.http://www.motorcitymarauders.com/forums/images/smilies/frown.gif I can see where right in front of the oil filter there is a power steering housing that has a wet clamp. It is a spring clamp, not one that can be tightened. Not sure why this is now speaking to me as well, but I can't wait to find the third issue, as things happen in three's.

Hopefully #3 is 'Gas tank is empty'
An easy, but costly fix....
Good luck with your issues.
Anyone up for an IAT discussion? :D
