I have an 03 CV LX with a stock single exhaust. I am starting to notice that the cats are getting red hot and will make that ticking sound for a while after the cars has been shut down. So I figured now is the time to order the tail pipes and H-pipe from rock auto and I have a set of flowmasters and stainless steel tips in my workshop and i'll go with duals but I want to remove the cats. Comming from all those who have done this what is the best method for removing the cats pertaining to the post O2 sensors???? will sims work or can I have the computer programmed to delete that option?

If you mean you have 2'nd O2's in that car, most tunes write them out anyways. I run headers and no cats with single (were the front) O2's without issue.
Cut the cats off. Leave the front O2's and get a tune from Dennis Reinhart since he has TONS of CV experience....

I think the cats should stay on or get some high flows.
I don't think the performance gains of going catless offset the penalties or the enviro concerns.

Two things..........
First - If your cats are getting are hot there is a problem..... most likely unburnt fuel is being dumped into the exhaust. Fix that issue. The ticking is normal, the metal is contracting as it cools down.
Second - It's illegal to remove the cats from any car, that's why almost all shops will not do it. If you remove the cats will you be able to pass you states vehicle inspection?
On the Marauder there are four cats..... most owners that change their exhaust replace the 4 cats with 2 hi-flow cats.
