So I dont know too much about cars but I'm going to attempt to install my PHP intake spacer and UD pullies today. Does anyone have any instructions I could follow? Any special tools required? I think I need a pulley puller to do the pullies. Can that be had at autozone? Thanks for the help.

Some tips:

The water pump pulley bolts will contact the block...Once the water pump pulley is on...try spinning it...before putting the belt back on...

The Steeda water pump pulley is thinner than the OEM ones...You will need to add a washer to shorten the bolts...Then it will be fine...

You will need a damper puller...

DO NOT install the damper with an air impact gun...Must be installed using a regular ratchet and torqued to spec...put a ltittle silicone sealer on the key and (crank)key way...

You will need a helper to hold the flex plate from spinning, while you torque down the crank bolt...

Good Luck...

BTW;I have not done the spacer...But I have heard that you may have some difficutly getting the EGR tube to connect back up (short)...

Follow the instructions for the underdrive pulleys. There is a long bolt used to install the balancer pulley that is replaced with the original one. As localboy said use some silicone sealer. It should all be in the instructions.

Thanks for the tips. What about a pulley puller? Someone on CVN told me I needed one. You guys know where I can find one?

Yes you do need a puller...

They are quite cheap @ $15.00 at your FLAPS...A good investment...

Good Luck...

Most important!! Make sure the engine is cold before you attempt to remove the intake cover. When you reinstall it make sure you only use 12 ft lbs to tighten it down in a criss cross pattern.

The EGR is a bit of a pain but not impossible.

Haven't done UDPs yet but the intake spacer was pretty easy, the EGR is just a pain cause it doesn't move the way you will want it to but not hard to do.

Well, I didnt get a chance to do the UD pullies. Intake spacer is done and I also installed 2 6x9s and an amp. The intake spacer was kind of a PITA. I went to a Murrays auto store and they said I dont need a pulley puller to do the UDs. IDK, though. I'm going to attempt to do them when I do the water pump.

You'll see..........

Murrays don't know what they are talking about......

Been there done that!

You will need a puller, most FLAPS will loan you one.

Go to Sears and buy one for your tool box. Just make sure the large washer comes out when you remove the OEM bolt. Don't try to crank away on the pulley if the washer is still in there. You won't get anything to move.

The UD's come with an install bolt for the crank. This bolt is to get the Pulley/Harmonic Balancer started onto the crank.

This bolt is then removed, and the OEM bolt is used to run the pulley down the rest of the way, and torqued to specifications.

DO NOT use the install bolt to replace the OEM bolt.

Thanks for all the help, guys. I think the 23rd or 30th I will attempt to do the pullies and waterpump. Then I need to buy some more mods 'cause I'll have nothing to do!

From what i have seen on dyno pulls, the spacer dont do a damn thing

How many dyno pulls did you see and how many different cars? If it was just a single dyno, it would be hard to tell if any gains were made from the spacer, espically if there was no before dyno on the same day. Like I said, I didnt expect huge gains from it, but I imagine it did add a few hp as advertised.

BTW, I removed the cooling fan when I installed my underdrive pullies.

I did not feel I got much gains out of the pullies and spacer .The Dyno showed gains 5-7 between the two.It did rev quicker and I was able to get ET's down to 14.2 W/ gears, tune, JLT pullies and spacer.
