Depends on when the roads clear off for me. Hell, my car is already in the burbs of Chicago waiting for me to come over. ha-ha.

Would be nice to drive it home rather than trailer it. But a chicken run sounds fun!

I don't care where... like I said usually it's a 10 minute drive for Zack and about 45 minutes for me.

I drive about 75 minutes to lassens, given that, I still feel its the best choice. Its great. Alot better than BWW or something like that. We were able to park, the food was very inexpensive and tastes great, we had a whole deck, and they had good beer on tap.

I'm fine with any location and I really liked that Route 66 place because it had plenty of room for our cars, which is important if we have some more Crown Vic guys coming too.

Worst chicken run ever.
Decent turnout.
The restaurant was crap, the manager took 15 minutes to seat us in an open dining room, the snaggle tooth waitress took 15 minutes to get to the table and rolled her eyes at about 3 of us for requesting the rolls they are famous for.
6 of us got up and left after we placed our order in disgust and went across the street to the Irish Bar/Restaurant and had great food and great service.

...and a few BLUE MOONS

Next meet is at Lassens in Homewood.

Last Chicken Run to Dell Rhea's for me,damn waitress put everything on one bill and added a charge for gratuity. The bill was $134 and change and the last three of us there had to come up with around $50,I got stuck paying $23 for a $7.95 burger and a $2.25 RC to help the other 2 guys pay difference in the damn bill. Where ever I go,IF I go again I'm getting a separate check so I only have to pay for my food.:mad2:
Edited
I ain't accusing anybody of stiffing anyone because i KNOW everyone kicked in on what they thought was their fair share of the bill, but somehow we got robbed. The joint has gone WAY downhill, customer treatment was rude and sloppy and I think they may have even padded the bill,I know the "gratuity charge" was added because the waitress wasn't worth a tip.
I DID enjoy meeting you guys,I'm bad on remembering names but it was a pleasure meeting all of you and wish more of you had stuck around as we,Motorhead, and ChiTownMaraud3r and I can't recall the guys in the CV's names, hung out for a good hour or more after the bill fiasco and made the most of things.
ChiTown, that's a NICE low mile MM you've got there,Motorhead thanks for showing and telling me about your S/C set up.Zack,I liked the Trilogy and the SB that was there was nice!

The service was completely horrible, you tellin me you can't put certain guests on a seperate check? Or all seperate for that matter? Lady quit being lazy. Even Dom was given attitude when he was being a nice guy and trying to joke around with one of the waitresses. The real joke is the last three of us paying about or over $20 each..

Regardless had a great time talking to Dom and Unclelar.

Had a great time meeting all of you but i wish that unclelar, chitownmaraud3r, and the rest of you guys would have come across the street we had a good time, nice quiet atmosphere, and the service was top notch. and by the way thanks alot zack now you got me thinkin about your car and also about the 50,000 i've got in the bank from my home equity loan damn you and your awesome ride. Hope to see you all at byron on may 18th. Peace

04-13-2008, 05:36 PM
Well,we all know better than Dell Rhea's anymore,F@#* that joint. I didn't know everyone was leaving due to the attitude of the staff or I'd have left too and at least hung out for a while.

04-13-2008, 06:33 PM
Nice turnout though. 8 cars when I was expecting about 4-5. It was great to meet everybody.

I should have looked more closely at the bill - I am sure that they must have left some of the items on there that were canceled. I ordered separately, from a different waitress - and yet I ended up included in the main bill and was told that it could not be split! Maybe they are tired of car clubs there.

Well - I hope that you can all make it to Byron where I am sure that we will have a better time. I will post the photos later this evening.

Hey Guys,

It was nice seeing everyone as I dont really get a chance to get out that much anymore. Sorry I did not stay but after I was told that they did not have the Chili and the waitress (Flo) rolled her eyes at me and then almost choked on Zack's request for rolls...well let's say I had enough. Did not mean to leave you guys but that place has really gone downhill since the last time I was their. If I am going to get scre**d for the price of a $12 sandwich, the waitress should at least smile at me!!!!!!

Our next chicken run should be at Lassen's and we can all sit outside and bs without worrying about whether Flo stuck her finger in our soup or not!!!!!!! I really feel sorry for you guys staying their. Your alot braver men then I am!

Later,

Brad

Sorry to have missed it as bowling with 7 year olds trumped the day. Also sorry to hear about Dell Rheas being a bust after all these years. The Irish place across the street has always been good.

See you all next time...

Motorhead350
04-13-2008, 09:10 PM
That place was a lot better last year. I really don't know what happened, but usually new management is the case. My food was good, but the service was probably the worst I've ever had. If I knew you guys had eyes rolled at you I would have been out the door right with you. I had fun hanging out for a little while, but I don't think I will be returning to Chicken Basket anytime soon. Like I said I choose that place for the lot.

Next time will be even better and I think we should devote one day to our other rides like Zacks 59 Caddy and my 65 C-10. We'll see. I'm already looking foward to the next one! ;)

Sorry to hear! I guess even with new managerial staff in place the service should be top notch. To deny customers the right for separate checks & automatically add tip to the bill thats LOW. Maybe they're making good money and are happy with that?

Why didn't you guys mention this to the rest of the crew? You could have all walked out together in protest and on the way out demand to speak with management. Tell them about the lack of quality service from FLO, that would have said it all. Did you ask for seperate checks in the beginning? Just askin', in the past we always had one bill unless ask for at the start. Not playin' arm chair QB but the spirit was there but what happen to our group cohesion? If any member was unhappy he should have put it out there to the rest. We all should have WALKED! Nobody even ask why you leaving, no GOODBYE's, just crew members filtering out, unnoticed. Wind City Marauders eating across the street from one another. DAMN! We acted like strangers and left the same way. Not as a group, not as a unit, not as a team...

Come to think about this, I've never seen management come out and greet us or introduce themselves. We went paid for the food, enjoyed the big parking lot and the ability to run our cars down the street without worry. Did we become complacent? We did smokey tire burnout in their lot and Dom came close to taking down their telephone pole and he thought it was fun. Just maybe they remembered this, and it's their way of saying they don't won't our money no matter what. And if Dom jokes the way he does he may have come close to gettin cracked in the head! I still have payback on my mind about my "Mom being KIDNAPED" that was not funny(I'm over it, just won't forget it). Zack knows the staff at Lessen's and we should feel comfortable in that. Zack has tried to get each of us in the past to the dragstrip for the same reason, we just have to bring our own food. We could race down the track too and see our times. But NOOOO we were to busy and Zack did this by himself. Would Lessen's have been happy to see Dom crash in their property, I think not, it wasn't funny then when I saw it. I not bashing us or saying we all should follow his lead, but Zack seems to know what we like and we should take this into thought.

So what's it gonna be Lessen's here on out? Or start an annual pinic/Drag event for everybody, wives, gf and kids. Something original and says "Windy City Marauders". We need to work this out together. Dell Rheas was just a Lesson, to show us what we need to accomplish as a group, because they certainly showed our weakness. Maybe thats what our intentions were, to come shake hands and leave? That we accomplished! Oh, the food is NEVER GOOD if the group as a whole is divided!!!

I know I'll probably get flame for the above, so go ahead!

Here's a place to post reviews about the dump, everyone who was there ought to post one to go with mine!
I'm sure there are plenty more sites that take customers reviews and I'm looking for them and I'm "going nationwide" with my complaints about this joint, please feel free to join in,give this dump the bashing it truly deserves.

I specifically told her it was going to be seperate for everyone when I placed my order, she cut me off by saying she was just going to put it all on one check...I just thought wtf. Oh well.

Yeah and the damn waitress wasn't the least bit helpful in understanding what the problem was at the end, in fact she made quite the scene. :shake:

BTW,I had the Angus burger and spent Sunday night running to the john and got sent home from work Monday and spent the day trying not to toss my cookies.I was sick to my stomach until late Monday night,I should've called the local health department on them jerks.
Did anyone else have a burger and feel lousy after eating there?
Maybe we should do a Hooters run next time, especially when they're having one of their car shows.
