Chris, Sherman and I are headed to MIR Saturday. We should arrive at noon.
My car is tuned and hopefully ready for the first time down the 1320 since putting in the new motor. If anyone wants to hang out let me know. P.M. me for cell phone number.

The car has over 300 miles, one oil change and drivetrain inspection last week including taking out the transmission. Compression test was also done along with a spark plug check. We also had the LM-1 on and off the car for the last couple of weeks. Am I missing something. This dog should hunt Brian. :banana: We are looking for numbers between 11.4 to 11.7

Nope, it's ready to go. Some builders want you to put about 500 miles on an engine before hard running. Others say hammer down straight out of the crate. Sounds like you're somewhere in between.

Can't be there in person Merc but will be there in spirit. Best of luck and be sure to let us know how it went.

Good luck Mark at making your numbers. :up: Hope the weather clears for you. Are you gonna let Pam join the 11 second club? Don't think I will be able to make it over to MIR today.

I can't upload the time sheet so I will have to type in some of the numbers. We had some technical problems at the track when it comes to locking the convertor. At about the thousand foot mark the car's torque convertor unlock. It felt like I was shifting into overdrive. I lost power and it seemed like the car was no-longer pulling. We tried both street tune and race tune and the shift and lockup schedules are the same. One positive highlight of the day was in the mile per hours trap speed. After a couple of test-n-tune runs I wanted to play with the big boys. I had a hard time getting a .0 second light that was not red. I need to shake off the rust and return to the shop for more tuning. We are going to change the wiring on the KB pump ( the original KB instructions were after the fpdm, we are going to wire it pre fpdm), lower the pulley to 2.8, and make some other adjustments to fuel. Check back in a couple of weeks. This is only the beginning. Here is a thread about pre fpdm wiring. http://www.modularfords.com/forums/s...ad.php?t=69694

Also the car weight was 4500 pounds including the driver.

First run at 1:39 P.M. car was hot from driving to the track.

R/T= .283
60 = 1.783
330= 5.137
1/8 = 7.915
mph=88.45
1000= 10.311
1/4 = 12.324
mph=112.35

The A/F is set to 11.0 and timing is at 17 degrees on street tune and 19 on race gas. Last weeks dyno numbers 467 rwhp / 456 torque. These number are on the conservative side and should increase as we make more adjustments.

Merc, I would've tried to get everything I could out of the tree as well if I was staged against a 7.719 @ 171.05... I hope you iron everything out. I look forward to running in to you at the track now that spring has sprung. Good luck with the tweaks. - Chris

Are you spending some more time down in Springfield on the dyno any time soon? How do you like Wheat's tuning?

Not to highjack Mercs thread, but are you talking about someone near us in Springfield? I may need some dyno help and I'm always a little leery...

Yes at Springfield motorsports, I think their tuner, Wheat is working on Mercs car, I too am curious how it's going for similar reasons. :)
