I have been shopping for new rims i want chrome i found oem wheels chromed by finishlinewheels.com but they are out of stock and canceled my order.
Does anyone have a good source of chromed oem rims ?
I did find boss 328 chromed wheels and i like them i know the stock rims have 50mm offset the boss has 40mm offset will they work?
Also are the boss rims cast or forged ?
i attached a pic of the boss 328

THE BEST PRICE I FOUND SO FAR IS $236 AT http://www.bigwheels.net/index.php?location=wheels&action=view_model&model=328%20Chrome
The only thing is looking at the boss wheel site whitch is part of american eagle they list they have the best pressure castings.
since are stock wheels are forged i dont know if i want to try a cast but the load rating is 1580 lbs per wheel that should support the 4 corners of the mm

I am not sure if i have the option to chrome my stock rims since my right front is smashed in over 2 " right were the bead of the tire seal and the outside is chipped , along with my back right is just chipped so i would need 2 rims to chrome than my other 2 stock ones.
i do like the boss 328 that i posted a pic boss website says they use the highest quaility Counter Pressure Casting. so its not forged.
does anyone know if a load rating of 1580lbs per rim is enough to support the mm and resist damage from roads?

I am not certain of their current price, but if you mention Marauder, you will get the pricing hookup.
I dropped them off at their doorstep, and it was 6 weeks to the day that I got them back.
Shipping = :dunno:

I have cast after-market wheels from Konig.
A load rating of nearly 1600 is actually greater then the load rating of most tires you'll buy for the car and should be sufficient.
I have drag-raced, closed-track raced and drifted my MM with no issues. I have had to rear after-market rims widened with no issues.
The 40mm offset will work PERFECT for the back (assuming an 8" rim). It WILL move the front wheel outward nearly 1/2 inch. It will be OK, but noticeable and will rub if lowered.
I put a +45 7.5" (same outside lip location as stock) up front and a +40 8" (moving the lip almost 1/2" out) on back and the stance was perfect. I have since widened the rear 2" bringing the offset to +65 on a 10".
Summary, I'd try to go with +50 on 8" up front or +45 on 7.5". +40 on 8" works great out back.

I was looking into a set of Boss wheels but they didnt have a option for staggered fitment, I was sold on the Bosses but that was a showstopper for me. So I ended up dishing out twice as much for the TSW's:( Oh well you pay to play right?

I've heard chatter of people saying Chrome on Aluminum will not last - thoughts? Will they look that good a few years down the road?

Dunno....
:dunno:
HOWEVER, they did tell me to NEVER let these wheels see show or ice (salt and that ice melting solution), or they will begin to peel after a a few winters at most.
So... they should go GREAT with a good set of Summer Tires :D

I've had many, many sets of aluminum wheels chromed and had great
success if it's a good job. I've had a few sets that did not have that great of job and they peeled like an onion.
You see an awful lot of Lexus and Mercedes running around with chromed
factory aluminum wheels.
Just like chroming steeles, quality counts. Only quality.
The sweetness of low price will be forgotten long before the bitterness
of poor quality.

Thanks for all the info on the chrome mm wheels. Right now i am leaning towards the boss 328 i like the look. of course when i ordered tires i was planning on the mm wheel with a 50mm offset the boss are 40mm i seen posted that it will fit the car i just dont want the front tire to set to much outside thepast the lip of the wheelwell i will be running
front nitto 555 255/45-18
back nitto 420 255/55-18
What do you think it will look like with this size and a 40mm offset
Quick fiqure i came up with is compared to stock the outside of my new fronts with offset of 40mm will be 13/16 more width and for the back about 19/32 more
